ShulaSteakhouse Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 StoryIMO - Palmer deserved it despite the rushing TD record...which ultimately doesn't mean a whole lot to me.Palmer finished last in the voting with 2?Geez. Turning around a 15 year losing franchise and leading the league in passing doesn't get more consideration than that?Whatever. Quote
Stripes Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 I think Alexander did deserve it. Not only did he break the rushing touchdown record, but he had the 9th most rushing yards in NFL history for a single season. Quote
derekshank Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Alexander definetely deserved it... despite being great early on... the past few weeks haven't been Palmer's best play, so he probably took himself out of the running. I would have been mad if Manning had gotten it. Alexander is fair. Quote

I wouldn't call Palmers showing as big a slight as O'Dell finishing as a distant also-ran for DROY. No kidding, that still surprises me. O'Dell produced TURNOVERS. What's better than that? As for Palmer, I'm pretty happy people can make a case for him winning the MVP award. There are no dogs on that list, and everyone was very deserving. That said, I think it's becoming abundantly clear that Marvin won't win Head Coach of the Year. Not when you look at how poorly the Bengals have fared in the national popularity contests. Quote
walshfan Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 those two late season losses may have hurt Palmer as far as votes go.I have no problem with a guy that rushes for allmost 1900 yards and breaks the alltime record for touchdowns though... Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 I thoguth Palmer would be higher, but at the same time I can't argue too much about whos in fron of him.Ask yourself this, though. If that rushing TD record is such a big deal, why has it been broken so many times in the last 10 or so years. Quote
rob_justdmb Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 The other 1400 players in the league tied for last. Palmer came in 5th. Quote
