HoosierCat Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 So just for kicks during lunch today I thought would take a look back at the NFL head coaching class of 2003, and see how Marvin stacked up against his peers who also took the reins that season.Go to the head of the class, Mr. Lewis. 1. Marvin Lewis, Bengals: 27-192 (t). Bill Parcells, Cowboys: 24-222 (t). Jack Del Rio, Jaguars: 24-224. Steve Mariucci, Lions: 15-28 (fired last month)5. Dennis Erickson, 49ers: 9-23 (fired after 2 seasons) Quote
walshfan Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Joisey...Marvin's overall winning percentage is the highest in Bengal history as well..If I were Mikey Id think long and hard about extending his contract even further! Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Walshfan, are you kidding me? Mikey already has the new contract on paper with another year and some more money for Marvin. Marvin won't look at it until after the Super Bowl! Quote
walshfan Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Im hoping thats true.. If I were the owner it would be for 5 more years! Quote
AMC Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Joisey, just as I suspected-----Marvin has no equal!!!!!!!!!!!!!Nice bit of research there! Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 I wouldn't be suprised if he gets an extension. He gets one every year. Quote
Stripes Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Not only does he have the best win-loss record, but he did it with the worst team, and in the worst atmosphere for success. If he doesn't emerge soon with a Coach of the Year award, then it will be a crime. Quote
AMC Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 I wouldn't be suprised if he gets an extension. He gets one every year. Extend him til 2050 with a club option for 2051-2060..... Quote
