membengal Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 They played. Pollack was in on some tackles as with a pile, and got a decent rush. Odell was in on a bunch of tackles, and had one beautiful pass breakup across the middle. The Lion spent a lot of the game throwing the ball, so not your usual stat lines. Quote
Kazkal Posted December 19, 2005 Author Report Posted December 19, 2005 IE why stats are overrated thanks for letting me know Quote
PMThor Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Sadly I think this weekend sealed up the ROY for Merriman. He had a great game against Indy and Odell, while solid, didn't shine how Merriman did. Bummer. Quote
Spain Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 That sucks, but hold up Odell has alot of INT. Quote
BengalsFan77 Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 And there are still 2 games left to play. While Merriman currently leads, Odell still can win with a couple of monster games. Which he HAS done this year. Quote
Kazkal Posted December 20, 2005 Author Report Posted December 20, 2005 I think Odell has a chance still a big chance,he was taken what 30+ picks after Merriman and unlick the public the people picking should know turning the ball over is better then a loss of down. Quote

DontPushMe Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 "Pos. Name, Team VotesTE Heath Miller, Steelers 217,928OLB DeMarcus Ware, Cowboys 104,592what a joke Quote
bengalindian Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 If the Chargers and Cowboys don't make the playoffs, which I hope happens, I think that will be in favor of Odell. Plus the five picks is pretty darn good, along with a TD return. Quote
kayaker0678 Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 odell will get screwed out for lofa Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 Merriman and Tuatopa (sp?) in Seattle will get it over Odell. And they deserve it - at this point they are both better players.ROTY candidates don't have 3 tackle games with a PD against a team like the Lions as a starting MLB.Love Odell, but man he is overrated by Cincy fans - understandably - but just being realistic. I'd be shocked if he got ROTY. Playoffs or not - the defense is still ranked in the 20's here I believe. A starting MLB has something to do with that. Again not bashing him - just being objective and realistic. He also really hasn't shown consistent improvement like Merriman has (Odell is still inconsistent and raw when it comes to reading and reacting on an NFL level). If Odell ever puts it together and becomes a smart, consistent player - he will be a monster - but until that day comes.... Kazkal Posted December 21, 2005 Author Report Posted December 21, 2005 Merriman is good but I woulden't say odell doesn't deserve it too I think he should be top 3 for it (odells on a worse defense and ya he isen't a sack master but which MLB is?stat wise they compareOdellSolo tkle:56 total:84Sacks:1int:5FF:4total turnovers:9LofaSolo tkle:80total:98sack:4int:3FF:0total turnovers=7Merrimansolo:37total:49sack:9int:0FF:2Total turnovers:2Stat wise I'd say Odell winsBut stats really don't matter their all 3 are great players & importent to their team any one could win it IMOOTY candidates don't have 3 tackle games with a PD against a team like the Lions as a starting MLB.Pass Happy LionsHe also leads the team in tackles Quote
