ShulaSteakhouse Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Ken Anderson, Eddie Brown and Ken Riley all had franchise records broken today or were surpassed on the all-time list. Pretty big trio of names.Carson passes Ken Anderson with 30 TD's passes in a season.Riley's single season record of 9 INT's is broken with Deltha's 10th.Chad passed Eddie Brown for 5th on the all-time franchise receptions list (or was it yardage? I can't remember at the moment if someone can correct that). Darnay Scott at #4 in receptions (386) should be surpassed by Chad soon. Quote
Stripes Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Yeah, it was great to see all of that indeed. It looks likes Kenny's completion percentage record will be safe after all, but who cares, he's a Bengal! Quote
cincykent Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 This season was the earliest they have ever clinched a division title. They did not clinch the division title in 1988 or 1990 until the final weekend. In 1981 it was the second to last weekend. They tied at least the best road record for a season in their history with 6 wins already. With two more wins they will have their best overall record ever. It sucks that after all that they could still be the #3 seed and have to play a first round game. Quote
jjakq27 Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Rudi needs 102 yards to break his record set last year of 1454 yards. Who was the guy that played running back before Rudi? I forget his name. Quote

jjakq27 Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 In all fairness, Corey was one of the few bright spots that this team had for many years. He has his share of team records and success but I think Rudi has made everyone forget all about him. Quote
derekshank Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 We are also looking at a decent chance of having the best record in franchise history. Our previous best is 12-4, which we should at least tie... and when it comes down to it, aren't wins and losses the only record we care about? Quote

The franchise record including post season games is 14-5 in 1981 and 1988 also. How does 16-3 sound? Quote

I forget his name. Rudi stated before the season began that he'd shatter his own record and he just might do it. BTW, I thought it was interesting that the three most important changes Willie Anderson mentioned as having turned the franchise around were ADDING Marvin Lewis as Head Coach, ADDING Carson Palmer as starting QB, and CHANGING starting RB's. What's Willie know. I heard some dude on Best Damn Sports Show call him a bum one time. With two games remaining, Chad Johnson is within striking distance of the team records for receptions (100, Carl Pickens in 1995) with 84 and is nearly a lock to break his own record for receiving yardage (1355 yds.in 2003). He currently has 1260 yards receiving. Also I am glad to see Deltha break the INT record in 14 games. I believe Riley's team record was in 1976 which was before they switched to the 16 game schedule in 1978. Quote
Columbusbengal Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 How does 16-3 sound?Even 15-3 sounds good (in case we get the first round bye) Quote
Stripes Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 How does 16-3 sound?Even 15-3 sounds good (in case we get the first round bye) I believe 16-3 would have already included the bye week, because a 19 game season would include such. Quote
jjakq27 Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 Carson Palmer needs 12 completions to break Jeff Blake’s single-season record of 326 set in 1995. Quote

The bye does not count towards anything. You only get credit for games that you play. Quote
HairOnFire Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 It's been mentioned in other threads but Palmer needs one more game with a passer rating over 100 to set the new NFL standard. So far he's only tied the record. Quote
Stripes Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 The bye does not count towards anything. You only get credit for games that you play. I don't know, I might just be confusing myself, but....... 16 games in the regular season... If you have a bye week, then a maximum of 3 games in the postseason for a total of 19, as seen in "16-3." Without the bye week, there'd be 20... Bah, it doesn't matter, I think the point has been made! Quote
jjakq27 Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 Tab Perry has set a pair of single-season franchise records. He has a record 57 kickoff returns for a record 1,395 return yards. The previous records were held by David "Deacon" Turner, who had 55 kickoff returns in 1979 and Tremain Mack, who had 1,382 kickoff return yards in 1999.Carson Palmer set the single-season franchise record for touchdown passes (32) and completions (340). He has 3,782 passing yards and needs just 178 yards at Kansas City to break Boomer Esiason's franchise record of 3,959 yards from 1986. Quote
jjakq27 Posted December 28, 2005 Report Posted December 28, 2005 Rudi needs 102 yards to break his record set last year of 1454 yards. Rudi needs 15 yards to break his record. Quote
indybengalsfan72 Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 sounds like the bungles records arn't that hard to break.... almost like a team that lost for a decade straight, or a team that has never won a superbowl, or a team from ohioOnce again, nice spelling and grammar troll! Quote
chrishcovga Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 Bengals.com covered this a little bit, but here are some things to ponder for the outcome on Sunday.1. Carson needs 218 yards to become the first Cincinnati Bengal quarterback to have a 4000 yard season.2. Chad needs 7 catches to become only the 2nd Bengal wideout to have a 100 catch season.3. Rudi needs 60 yards for a Bengal first 1500 yard season. ( 15 ) to break his own team record of 1454.4. T.J. Houshmandzadeh needs 73 yards to become a 1000 yard receiver for the first time in his career. A 1000 yard season would also give Cincinnati it's first 1000 yard duo in team history.5. Chris Perry ( if he plays ) needs 8 catches to break James Brooks record of catches by a running back.6. Bengals need a win, In team history, the Bengals have never finished 11- 5. And twice have finished 12 - 4, with both records leading to Super Bowl visits. Quote

walshfan Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 Good stufff Chris... please post more espcially about the upcoming draft. Quote
LB51 Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 That would all be awesome, but I don't think it'll happen. Rudi will get to 1500 and TJ to 1000 but as for the others, I just don't see Carson, Chad, and Perry playing much if at all. Quote
AMC Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 Out of all the milestones I would like to see TJ get a 1000, so both TJ and CJ would have it in the same year. And I would like to see Rudi get 1500. Carson getting 4000 is only a matter of time. Who-Dey! Quote
Stripes Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 I think Rudi will crush that record. I doubt Palmer or Perry will have a legitimate shot at their respective milestones, and Chad is questionable too. Still, it would be great to see it happen for any of them. I'm really rooting for T.J. to hit a thousand. Quote
