Merry Xmas Duus, there won't be a lot of joy in muddville in the morning.

F the Squeelers.

Ah, the sweet anticipation of a tired, long-faced Steeler nation on Tuesday morning. Hey, what was that I just heard? Was that the winds of change in the AFC North? A victory on 12/4 and we are home free! Now that would be a complete Christmas present!

(thanks Peyton)

BTW ... isn't it interesting what happens when you hold the Steelers to around 50 yards rushing, and force Ben to throw >25 times? Hmmm ... 17/26 with 2 picks. I don't know the formula, but something tells me that ain't no 100+ qb rating. :-)

I, for one, will sleep oh so nice tonight. Then on to a week of first place pride. To be concluded with a win by our Bengals on Sunday. Steel town will look back at this 3 game stretch and wonder what hit them.

How sweet it is ... and good night.

Now is the time. We must beat Pittsburgh. They dominated us, Indy dominated them, we barely lost to Indy. Which way will the pendulum swing? We must beat Pittsburgh. This is our time. We have the best chance to finally win our division. And we will. We must beat Pittsburgh. Score early and make Ben throw the ball. Get them out of their run tempo. We must beat Pittsburgh. We will beat Pittsburgh!!!

Cowher's press conference included reference to the fact that he believed the home field advantage was the difference (O-line couldn't hear the plays plus he claims that the Colts are built for speed which they can best utilize on footing like the dome). If this is true, the Bengals v. Steelers game will be totally unrelated to how either of those teams did against the Colts, since the Steelers will be at home. I always believe dome teams have a greater home field advantage than other teams. However, I think the speed of the defense (something the Bengals also have) can be a problem for a young QB like Ben whether or not the footing is artificial or not. I think the Bengals just have to be careful not to make mistakes (turnovers or penalties) and they'll be fine.

Actually the O-line will determine the outcome....I believe in our O-line to get it done

That's it. The O-Line has really bucked up since the last Pittsburgh game. That was the one that got them angry, and I think we'll see the results this week.

Any news on the injury front for Pittsburgh coming out of Indy?

I'll be sure to report on any injuries, etc. as I hear them on the live press conference at noon. I'll post them in the 'pinned' thread.
