walzav29 Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 He was my favorite Bengal growing up, and I was thought it was cool he was sitting in the cheap seats against the Vikings. He picked the Bengals to win the Super Bowl, and last night I watched him explain with the same joy all of the things that have to and will happen for the Bengals to beat the Colt. He's my boy. I know any of my friends who aren't Bengal fans hate his guts. Do Bengal fans like him? Quote

NYBengalfan Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 Wasnt old enough to watch him play, but I saw how great he was through highlights of his old games, and I have observed him as an analyst for HBO's inside the NFL and with Fox. I think he is great as an announcer, as a player and as a person, because he knows he is a god around the Cincy area and yet at the Vikings game he sat with the fans, shows that he has class and doesnt think that he is better than everyone else. omahacolt Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 i like collinsworth but he gets a bit full of himself from time to time Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 i like collinsworth but he gets a bit full of himself from time to timeI hate to tell you this, but it's not just time to time.... Quote
Spain Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 In the early 90s, I meet him several times at a restraunt named the precinct in Cincy.(have no idea if its still there). Well alot of the Bengals would go there to drink. I used to go and drink there alot. this dude is the biggets prick you have ever meet. Wait Boomer was a bigger prcik than him. I will say something about Bommer he would never take s**t from nobody he would screw a man up. The nicest Bengal I ever meet there was Krumrie. Joe walter and JB were pretty cool too. I meet them because I was shaginng some secretary at wilmington when they trained there. Yes I was shaging her only to get access. Damn she always had VIP tickets. Quote
Columbusbengal Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 I loved Collinsworth because he had a sense of humor and absolutely had a true passion for the game. He also was consistently good (didn't throw in really bad games every four or five games). Of course, people loved that whole team (much for the same reason people will love every player on this team if it goes to the playoffs).l Quote
ckj414 Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 Collinsworth is awful as an analyst, he lets his personal feelings about a team color his analysis like few others. I can see why a Cincinnati fan would like him though, he's always seemed to have good things to say about the Bengals. Quote
Jet23 Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 I will take him over that clown Trumpy. The nicest Bengal I ever met was Joe Walter, by far. Stanford Jennings and JB were pretty cool too. Quote
Stripes Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 I bet Collinsworth loves Collinsworth. There must be a good reason that non-Bengals fans hate him, so I suppose we're all homers, but I agree, he seems alright even if he's a bit haughty. Quote
AMC Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 I will take him over that clown Trumpy. The nicest Bengal I ever met was Joe Walter, by far. Stanford Jennings and JB were pretty cool too.The nicest Bengal I ever met was Reggie Williams...Super nice guy...Side note: David Klingler came into the Subway I worked at one time when I was in college....DUMB AS A ROCK!Collinsworth = goofy dude, but he has a definite place in Bengals lore forever. mgilgris Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 I think every sports star I have ever met was pretty much a prick. I think the worst I ever met was Griffey Jr who would litterally push people aside and ignore their calls for autographs. You cant really blame most of them though when they are well known enough to get bothered day in and day out for autographs etc. Some of course may be worse than others but all in all they are all pretty bad. As far as collingsworth goes, any former bengal player who still has his heart within the city is loved by this bengal fan. WHO DEEEEY Quote

I still remember Wyche asking him if he did it for his daughter, I want to say Chelsea or Kelsy... It was short live though, because Cisco scored in like 8 seconds after that. Quote
HairOnFire Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 Collinsworth cracked me up last night while watching HBO. He claimed that Odell Thurman is so clueless about where he's supposed to be within the Bengals scheme that he may end up picking off a pass due to Peytons better knowledge of where the MLB should be. Simply put, Odell will be where nobody expects him to be....including his own coaches and the opposition. As for Boomer, I've never met him in person, but after listening to his act over the years I've learned to hate him from afar. Quote
NJ29 Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 As an announcer... I don't like him.As a receiver who fumbles in the 10 in the Super Bowl... I don't like him.As a CAREER Bengal... I like him.But a, Chris...HOLD ON TO THE FOOTBALL! Quote
Spain Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 No s**t boomer is the biggest dick head Ive ever meet in my life. Hey Krumrie came over to our table and sit with us because my Grand mother was a fan of his. The guy is super freakin cool! Complete country boy! Quote
jungleman Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 I like collinsworth about as much as a cane can like a gaytor. jk but he is one commentator i like because he is a homer. Quote
