Stripes Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 That makes no sense at all. I guess they can't be wrong then. Quote
F.Cleveland Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 http://warroom.sportingnews.com/nfl/matchu...e/overview.htmlAnalysis says we get killed yet Iyer and Spanier pick us... Did you guys notice the coaching was checked to the colts? Thats garbage. Marvin pulled us from the ashes. If we make the playoffs, no WHEN we make the playoffs he deserves coach of the year. Anything else would be insulting. Quote
turningpoint Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 i'm confused on the O-line check to the colts...do tey even have a probowler on their o-line? Quote
AMC Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 i'm confused on the O-line check to the colts...do tey even have a probowler on their o-line?quick passes make an average O-line look great...just like the Colts! Edge out of the backfiled doesn't hurt....They are saying the final will be 34-17??? Hmmmm.....maybe 35-34 Bengals! Quote
walshfan Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 Ive yet to see one of those analysts play this year.....Be effecient in the Redzone agasint the Cover2 defense.Keep their DE's off Palmer's back..Create gaps for Rudi Johnson to eat the clock..Do this and all will be fine...... Quote
HairOnFire Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 Wow, the analysis was free but I still feel ripped off. On defense they suggest the Bengals overload against the run and attempt to defeat the Colts passing attack with just 3 defenders. On offense they suggest the Bengals willingly limit their own passing attack by featuring a two TE set and lots of max protection junk to keep Palmer from geeking. That's some stupid chit right there. Quote

That's some stupid chit right there. I agree, that seems like about the opposite of what we need to do. I doubt we'll be stacking the box often against Manning's arm. As for the TEs, that is an even worse idea. We need to go vertical on the Colts defense many times, and that certainly won't happen with Kelley and Schobel on the field. Yes, the writer acknoweleged the strangness of these ideas, but supported them with the amount of rushing yards we've given up in our two losses. That is true, but what's the point of stopping that if you're just going to give up 350 yards passing? Who gets paid to write this stuff? Quote
HairOnFire Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 Who gets paid to write this stuff? Sportswriters, and it's a perfect example of why I stopped going to the Sportin' News website several years ago. Stupid analysis that you usually have to pay for. No thanks. Moving on, check out the analysis from the two scouts on the Bengals website. It's good stuff, and like you and I both seem to think....exactly opposite of what the sportswriters at TSN suggest. Note: I hadn't realized they changed the game time to 4:15 until this morning. I guess I'll have to reset my Tivo. Quote

HairOnFire Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 Put Ron Jaworski in the same tent with TDB and me. Jaws was on the Dan Patrick show earlier and when the subject of the Bengal/Colt game came up Ron claimed the Bengals were the most balanced offense the Colts would face all season. He claimed further that the Colts run defense was vulnerable to a dedicated power attack and due to the fact that the Bengals running game was amongst the most patient in the NFL they would be severly tested IF the Bengals strategy was to spread the field and use all of their weapons. He admitted that no team in the NFL wanted to get in a shootout with the Colts, but the Bengals were a team that didn't need to fear a pointfest. Quote
ckj414 Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 The Colts haven't played anyone yet this year, thats about as soft a 9-0 record as they come. I have my doubts about them because they seem soft against the run. If the Bengals come out fired up and ready to play physical they'll have a real good chance to win this game. Quote

While I agree they've had a soft schedule, if I were a Colts fan, this comment would probably make me punch the computer. I don't care how strong the schedule is, they have been dominant, and have been beyond all doubt the best team in the league so far. Bengals fans always want more respect, well the Colts DESERVE it.
