walzav29 Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 I honestly prefer the Bengals playing their games on Sunday's at 1. I hate to wait, and I think it throws them off of their routine. The thing that boggles my mind is how they decide who actually plays on Monday nights. They must not have 1 guy that knows anything about the NFL. You can't just take the teams from the playoffs the year before and give them 3 games each. The Vikings vs the Packers next week? That's a joke. The fact that they try to showcase stars instead of actually good teams is why the ratings always go down. I wish they could take an objective view of upcoming season when determining the schedules. That's what they get for jumping off the Marvin bandwagon. Randy Moss, Farve, Duece McCallister, Ray Lewis are the reasons they decided to broadcast those games. Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 It's obvious they put the teams on that they think will make them the most money. Dallas all the time, Philly all the time, NE all the time, GB all the time. They put the games on where that city and the TV ratings will make them the richest Quote

Screw MNF! It isn't all that beneficiary to the franchise, and waiting for the game SUCKS! Quote
NYBengalfan Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Yeah I love sunday games, and games on holidays, like Christmas Eve and New Years day. f**k MNF ill take my Bengal games at 1:00 and the occasional 4:15 game thank you very much. Quote
bengalindian Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Seriously, I love Sunday football. Having a MNF game is alright with getting the whole city pumped and such, but it's like a bye week on the Sunday. Plus, every coach will tell you he loves every game on a Sunday because it doesn't mess with the routine. Quote
AMC Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 All 'bout the ratings gentleman....and seeing that MNF has been struggling these last few years you think they would REALLY shake it up. Put on teams that have a "curiousity" factor to them like the Bengals...They just didn't like us beating Denver into the ground...they wanted a Denver rout....What kills them is they have to make the sched up based on the year before...Vikes-Pack looked good at the beginning of the year. ShulaSteakhouse Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 I am so SICK of seeing Dallas and Green Bay and Philadelphia on Monday's - and Denver too for that matter, or on national 4pm games.I really don't care to see another Packers game for next 5 years at this point, or Dallas game. You know they are kicking themselves for the ratings bomb the Vikes/Pack stinkfest will be.Maybe this will teach them to get the heck off of Favre's nuts and realize there are other good, young QB's in the league.Regardless, this year's performance and Palmer's emergence should guarantee us a MNF game or two next year, and hopefully a Sunday night to boot, or two. CBin2k7 Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Not just Monday Night but Sunday Nights also. I hate when a team is on Sunday Night and then the next week they are on Monday Night, do we really need to see Dallas play every team in the NFC East on Monday Night Football.I don't care about the Bengals being on Monday Night either, especially since next year it is going to ESPn and Joe Theismann is going to be doing the games. MNF has lost it's appeal to a lot of people Quote
WhoDey42 Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 How about the Texans getting 2 Sunday Night games?? No one really expected them to be that great. I can see them possibly putting them up against a bigger market team, but Seattle???I almost can't stand to watch SNF anymore. I like the Madden-Michaels team, I can listen to them. But, the SNF crew just annoys the $#!+ outta me! Anyone ever realize how Paul Maguire makes every play sound like the greatest play that he's ever seen? But, those announcers for the Bengals-Ravens game last week were horrible too! They were such homers and the play-by-play guy even admitted he was wearing a purple tie.Why can't everyone be as perfect as people on here? Quote
Stripes Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Anyone ever realize how Paul Maguire makes every play sound like the greatest play that he's ever seen? Ahem...."Now I'ma tell you what, look at this tackle! That is all feet and fear! This is one of the great tackles you'll ever see in the National Football League, I don't care who you are! Did I ever mention how great Ray Lewis is?" Quote
CTBengalsFan Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Primetime games are the only ones I get to see live at school... f**k the people who came up with the MNF/Sunday Night schedule... Quote
scott91575 Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 Well, they are learning. They realize the matchups sell in the NFL, not the market. So in future contracts they are making the schedule fluid and allowing for key matchups to be in primetime. If the Colts/Bengals game happens two years from now with the same schedule, it would be switched to Monday night. Quote

Stripes Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 before season started I most predictions for the texans to be 10-6 / 9-7 around us I remember a magazine in the preseason (I think it may have been Lindy's) predicting that the Colts, Jaguars, and Texans would all go 10-6. At the time I thought that was rediculous, but still, I never expected Houston to be as downright terrible as they have been this year.BTW the same magazine picked the Bengals to win the AFC North at 9-7 and have both the Steelers and Ravens go 8-8.
