richmond_mat Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 Two things that I noticed were1) simmons played great. So I was glad to see him get player of the week. I didn't realize it was that great. 2) Bratkowski called a pretty good game. He got greedy with the second shovel pass, but there was not a time that I wanted to rip my hair out. Good defenses do not fall for the same trick twice. The toss to Tab was excellent. Quote
ahanes Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 1. Bengals let the Ravens hang around too long. Still lacking that killer instinct of burying a team early like they did to Minnesota. 2. Chris Henry is going to be a stud. The Bengals have 3 star receivers locked up for next 3-4 years. 3. Rudi Johnson is a tough runner. He won't break any long ones, but he can run between the tackles. The 10 yard loss was a drive-killer though and he needs to just fall down in the future instead of trying to reverse field.4. Kevin Kaesviharn should not be starting on an NFL team. The roughing the passer penalty right before halftime let the Ravens back into the game. 5. Tab Perry was an EXCELLENT pickup in the 6th round. He will contribute to this team for years on special teams and as a 5th receiver. Quote
NJ29 Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 P2JTD said, we're lackin' that killer instinct. I don't think that this team will ever make a deep playoff run until they learn to pick up that avalanche effect. With the turnovers we're creating, we should be scoring more than we are. Two examples of this:1. Against Green Bay, our D created 5 huge turnovers, but our offense lacked the killer instinct after the turnover to make something happen.2. Against Baltimore, our offensemade a great, time consuming drive near the end of the half, and our defense let them drive down and get three points with 1:30 left in the half. Quote
NYBengalfan Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 I thought that it was a solid defensive performance overall. Not pleased about the end of the 1st half, when the Ravens drove right down and got a FG. The Kaesviharn penalty pissed me off. But I was thrilled about not allowing a TD. im a little concered about Shayne though. He missed a FG that he nomally makes. maybe I am being petty but I just wished that he made it, to ease me about that. Quote
bengalindian Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 I definitely think that the Bengals need to have a better overall effort. Against, the Packers, they needed to win by atleast 21, and the Ravens were in it for too long. If, somehow, the Bengals are able to go up by 2 possessions against the Colts, it would equal a win, or pretty close to one. Quote
lando griffin Posted November 11, 2005 Report Posted November 11, 2005 People get on me for ripping Schobel because he consistently doesn't show up on gameday, but you guys getting on Kaesviharn for one penalty?? He may not be the most skilled, and lets face it, he's playing because of all the injuries, but I am quite happy with KK. He plays decent all around, if he has the chance to make an interception he makes it, he's decent in coverage, he went all out to get that fumble by Heap, and he's always playing hard. Done quite a decent job for a backup starting all year. Quote

I suppoose the same can be said of Kaesviharn, but he has played well this year. Quote
