Filling our needs for next year?

What a great thread!! I was just wondering if anyone was talking about the draft already, glad I'm not the only one thinking about it. ^_^

1st: I have watched Ngata play, the guy is a monster and when you see him in action there is no way you say he's just a fat a$$.(incidentally, how many times have I seen people on this site posting things like "we need a big fat a$$ at DT to stop the run", and now its a bad thing?? ) I have had my eye on him for a while, but I have to wonder if he'll be a 1st rounder or not. I think the Bengals should keep an eye out, and if he isn't gone by the time they pick in the 1st then they should hold off till the 2nd and maybe try to trade up in the 2nd round to get him. Grady Jackson is a good, solid pro who would be a great addition to the run D.

2nd: I watched the Bengals go after a great college player last year and land David Pollack in the 1st round...the whole time I was hoping they might go after Heath Miller. Not just because I thought that the Bengals needed a TE, but because of all the teams that had to pick after the Bengals only Pittsburgh needed a TE and could afford to spend a 1st round pick on one. I really didn't want the Bengals to have to go up against Todd Heap and Heath Miller twice a year for years to come. Hopefully Pollack will come into his own and the Bengals won't have to regret that too much.

3rd: I think that the Bengals can go after a TE in the 1st round. I like Schoebel but he's just too inconsistent and he never really blossomed as a blocker. One player who could make a difference and add yet another weapon to the potent Bengals' O is another Georgia product, the 6'7 Leonard Pope. Its hard not to notice the guy based on his size alone, but I got my first chance to see him in action tonight and he's pretty good. I like his blocking ability, he can get down the field and get open, he has good hands, and he's a great athlete. I saw him try to hurdle the safety after a catch and the safety got just enough of hi leg to throw him off balance and bring him down. I also liked watching him carry 2 DBs down the field for an extra 3 or 4 yards on another catch. I think thats the way to go in the 1st round, DT will have more prospects.

Last: I don't think Archuletta is better than KK right now, I wouldn't sign him.

Your Number 3 is on the mark. I watched the Georgia game, Pope looked like he had no fear of blocking and when they threw the ball to him he controled the DB and LB what I liked more was he new he was going to take a hit on one long pass and reached out and got the ball with very little effort . But we all know he will not be around in the second round when Marvin and Company would get to pick. :(:(
