Spain Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 We lost at home , they are going to win this division if we dont take them out at home but at least we will meet them in the playoffs. So we get two shots at it! They also might get banged up you never know. However that loss in cincy is going to destroy the whole season, unless Palmer can pull out some Elway heroics! Just two cents but they are going to be a top the north before we play again! Maybe its just not our year! Im still hoping Palmer can do IT! However next year I bet FAs wont be afraid to come here and water boy and the rest will be up to speed on D! Just an opinion! Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Fear not my Spanish nut! It's all about momentum and peaking at the right time. Obviously the Bengals haven't "peaked," but they continue to improve every week. If we win against Indy, or even play the Colts tough in a close loss, that will still continue building that confidence and momentum. I'm hoping that the Bengals begin to "Jell," and their overall performance peaks just as the playoffs are upon us.IMO the Steelers "peak" crested at the end of last season and are still riding what's left of that big 15-1 record into the 2005 season. We've seen they're beatable, even with Roethlisburger, who's been taking a huge beating this year. BUT...it takes a precise and well executed game to do it. We can't squander early scoring opportunities or be run roughshod over as what happened in our last meeting. If that is achieved, then going into Pittsburgh and taking one from them there isn't far fetched in the least! We did it last year to the Ravens, and how probable did that seem then?(Speaking of the Ravens, remember how they eeked into the playoffs with a wildcard in 2000 just as they seemingly "Jelled" together, and never lost the momentum or confidence the rest of the way. The heavily favored Giants got spanked!) I see the Bengals making great strides as a team. Carson is playing at an unbelievably higher level than he did last year! Palmer leads the league in total yards, (2037) touchdown passes, (16 against just 5 picks!) with an overall QB rating of 104.1%, second only to Roethlisberger's 112.4. Hell, he's even ahead of Peyton Mannings 98.3 %! His effort to reduce INT's has only contributed to the teams amazing turnover ratio, which went from a negative number last year, to the present +20 we now enjoy! Also with the defense (who I'm admittedly over critical of) holding Jamal Lewis to 49 total yards rushing ain't chicken feed! He's run roughshod over us before. That's all over. Besides, I love how it made Micheal Irvin look like the fool we know he is as he loudly predicted in ESPN's pregame show:"Jamal Lewis would have his breakout game against the Bengals because Cincinnati can't stop the run" There's plenty of well beaten ratbird to dine on there Micheal! Dig in and fill that big ol' mouth of yours!! Quote
turningpoint Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 I'm not worried, I see the colts losing today.winning next week easily vs the texans.then they play us, i think we pull a win out vs them.Carson has a methodical drive to win the game by 3 points.27-24. for some reason i see this Sunday night game for the steelers as a trap game.they have no rothlisberger, and the browns always play the steelers tough.not to mention romeo crenel i think knows how to shut them down.if droughns can run well and Dilfer manage the game they have a shot at winning this. bengalindian Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 The Browns have zero shot at next week's game. However, I'm still rooting for them. Go Browns!I just threw up in my mouth a little. Quote
Kazkal Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Browns have a better shot then green bay. and green bay was in that game Quote
Stripes Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 The Browns have a shot, but I think this will be the same "Pittsburgh pulls it out in the 4th quarter" story as always. We have to hope we do all our business as planned, and they lose to Indy and us. Winning the North suddenly doesn't seem nearly as out of reach as it did after the first Steelers game. Quote
Spain Posted November 7, 2005 Author Report Posted November 7, 2005 I too think wwe cna take the colts, however Pitt isnt going to stop winning. thye have that tie breaker. the game there must be won. Can we do it yes we can beat them. Is it likely I would have to say if we dont jump up on them. they can pound our D. One thing must be said we saw some rotation of the DTs last game nad OHf**kme seems to had the light switched on in the middle of last game. If Miller just cant play pass and catch we should just whop this team. The real key is are SS to me. IF he continues to pick up his game the steelers cant use that same game plan!IMHO Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Ben will be out again next week, and Cleveland has a chance to knock off Pittsburgh. Even if they don't win, I am confident that we can beat Pittsburgh. Not only that, but the Colts match up much better to beat the Steelers than the Bengals. Quote

I think a trip to the ol' "Dawg Pound" is in order, just to see how the overall feeling about this matchup in Cleveland is! I'm hoping the dawgs get rabid in between now and then! Inducing it may not be so easy... Quote
