AMC Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Just having the #4 offense in the league can't bail him out. He is "coordinating" one of the most talented groups in the NFL. He is a big reason it isn't the #1 offense in the league.Bratkowski = Blech Even if he's a big reason they arent' No. 1 (and I don't agree), he is a big reason they're No. 4. C'mon, what do you want? If we had the No. 4 run D Breshnahan would be getting cannonized about now.Bottom line: Brat ain't going anywhere anytime soon.I agree. But I think Zampese is waiting in the wings, juuuuust in case....I agree with the thought that Brat is not receiving enough credit for coordinating a Top 5 offense. Bresh would be a god if they were a Top 5 D. Why the difference in perception? I don't know.... Quote

An improved run defense, especially a top five unit, would be something that would have shocked us all. Bresnahan would be getting huge kudos for that reason. We all knew the offense would be good. As far as yardage is concerned, it has been good. Still, we are 11th in points per game. Considering the field position we have been getting, we should be scoring points more in correllation with the yardage. The offense has struggled on third down and in the red zone. There are three possible reasons for that, those being poor execution, poor play calling, and penalties. I am saying all three are to blame. I think Bratkowski has gotten a little "Perry-happy" on third downs, and he has abandoned the run quickly too frequently this year. Quote

True....Down the line execution in the red zone will become most important.... Quote
HoosierCat Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 I think Bratkowski has gotten a little "Perry-happy" on third downs, and he has abandoned the run quickly too frequently this year. The focus on Perry on 3rd downs refects the fact that they are still looking to replace Warrick. He was the go-to posession guy; now we have a platoon of Perry, Walter and Henry that's garnered mixed results. I suspect erry will come to take over more of the role as he and Palmer get more comfortable together, and performance should improve. Quote
