Stripes Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 Looking good. The rest of those lazy ESPN butts need to get their picks in. Quote
Bengal_Brad Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 Theisman hates the Bengals. Look at the record of picks too. He has the worst record of anyone else. On that note the guy that has the best record in CBSSportsline is picking the Steelers. Quote
Junglelove4 Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 Did anyone notice on the CBS picks, 5 of the 6 people have houston over the colts??? That just doesn't make any sense at all. Quote

HoosierCat Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 SN's Viinny Iyer likes us... http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AqNJ...v=tsn&type=lgnsAFC GAME OF THE WEEKPittsburgh at Cincinnati. Last week's Tommy Maddox disaster proved two things: 1) Maddox isn't very good 2) Ben Roethlisberger is pretty darn good, and not just a "caretaker." Although Big Ben doesn't always dazzle with big plays, more important, he doesn't make the big mistakes that cost his team games. His return is timely, as his team needs him and its offense to get back on track in a most important NFC North road game. With Hines Ward and Antwaan Randle El battling injuries, expect even more of the classic run-heavy Steelers, making full use of Willie Parker and Jerome Bettis. Rookie tight end Heath Miller also should remain involved in the ball-control passing game. All that is necessary to control time of possession and keep the ball out of Carson Palmer's hands.Palmer, however, also has established himself as an efficiency expert. He can spread the ball around or have Rudi Johnson pound it. While the running game will provide some needed physical jabs against the Steelers' mighty D, the knockout blows will come through the air.The Steelers' weaknesses lie at the corners, meaning Chad Johnson and rookie Chris Henry should have some chances for game-turning plays. Chad went sans celebration after last week's TD, and he and his teammates will be all business again in a "we've arrived" mission. The Bengals' improved defense, energized by a hungry home crowd, will do its part in slowing down the Steelers' running game just enough. Bengals 23, Steelers 17. Quote
MacD BengalFan Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 And he pretty much says it all as to how the game should go. Despite what a few people have posted in the past couple of weeks claiming Houston and Tennessee were big games, this is a BIG game. A win will put the Steelers 2.5 games behind the Bengals. That is a tough hill to climb, but is do'able. With a win over the Steelers, the Bengals can also establish themselves as the team to beat for the division instead of the Steelers. However, a Steelers win will increase the pressure for the Bengals to win the Division Title as the Steelers will only be 0.5 games back and reaffirm that they are the team to beat. A victory is a must. While a defeat not tragic, it will hurt the chances for the Bengals to win the division title. Quote
Fear the Johnsons Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 Theisman hates the Bengals. Look at the record of picks too. He has the worst record of anyone else. duus Posted October 21, 2005 Report Posted October 21, 2005 ESPN's picks are starting to come in... So far we have 2 in favor of Cincinnati, and 2 in favor of Pittsburgh.http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/features/talentBoy, I'm really confused by this. The Expert Picks site shows Salisbury picking the Steelers, yet on 'Cold Hard Facts' (I think that is the name of it ... it's part of SportsCenter with Stuart Scott), Salisbury clearly said he thinks the Bengals will win. Perhaps that is intentional ... whichever happens, he will be right. Ridiculous. Quote
turningpoint Posted October 21, 2005 Author Report Posted October 21, 2005 (ESPN)Gotta love the fact that 3 guys don't have their picks in, when a game is about to be played in the next 8 hrs. f**king useless. Quote
