In fact, I was surprised to see that in the stats when I got home, because I can't for the life of me remember that pass.
ahanes
Welcome to the board. Henry had a quiet game today, but up and down is the life of an NFL rookie. He almost made a great acrobatic catch on a long ball from Palmer, but couldn't haul it in. Overall though, I think most Bengals fans would agree that he is going to be a vital part to this offense for years to come.
NFLAuthor
Is everyone high on Henry or Kelly Washington? I think Henry will be better than Housmandzadeh. BengalszoneBilly
Henry all the way. He can be another Chad Johnson.I couldn't agree more! He's the total package that you look for in a WR. He's got the speed, the hands, and the build to be able to take his game to that level. The_Next_Big_Thing
Is everyone high on Henry or Kelly Washington? I think Henry will be better than Housmandzadeh.Henry will be a different kind of receiver than Pootie Tang. TJ is a possession, over the middle, make the hard catches with good route running receiver. Henry will NEVER be better at that kind of work.Henry is more like a Chad Johnson, a fast down the field jump for the ball big play guy. He's not a possession guy.Pootie is the modern version of Tom Waddle.

Stripes
Henry looks like the real deal for sure. He has been making plays all over the field, and has been a solid third down target. I will not call him the next Chad Johnson, because from the style of play I have seen from him, he looks more like Randy Moss.

Chad, Henry and Washington are the wideouts..TJ, Walter and Tab Perry are the slots....Do you think Chad Johnson would be as good a slot receiver as TJ?? Chad and Henry are game breakers... thats what their best at ...TJ and Walter take the short routes and the passes designed over the middle in traffic...You have to have both types and we're fortunate to have good ones at both positions..... NFLAuthor
Then why did Chris see 2 passes thrown his way today? Double teams?
Stripes
Then why did Chris see 2 passes thrown his way today? Double teams? We weren't using many three receiver sets today, until the fourth quarter, so the Titans were able to double cover Chad the entire game. When Henry was the only other receiver on the field, they were able to double him too. I think that was why Carson was having so much difficulty finding anyone open in the first half. CTBengalsFan
Bump...like to hear more input.I predicted before the season that Henry would end up as our #2 wideout, with TJ at #3 in the slot and still getting snaps on two wide out sets. That will be a hell of a 1-2-3 combination with Palmer and Rudi and Perry for years.
Kazkal
with all these huge receivers people are going to have start breeding 6'6 cornerbacks
skyline
Then why did Chris see 2 passes thrown his way today? Double teams? That's just football for you. Carson was finding other guys that were open. The Titans were dropping back both of their safeties, and it wasn't until they brought out a 3rd receiver that the deeper passes started opening up for them. Until they did that, they had to settle for the shorter yardage type of plays.

You put a Chad and a TJ on the field.

The_Next_Big_Thing
So you just leave the number 1 on the bench then huh? That makes no sense.No. Pay attention now. There are two types of receivers on a football team. There are those who are the #1 type, the fast, big play guys who you don't send over the middle and punish. They may not run the best routes, but they have skills and speed and tricks to make up for it. They play the outside and long routes. There are those who are the #2 type, the interior guys who run nice routes and use the game plan to make just enough separation to keep the drive going with shorter, over the middle possession routes. They don't tend to speed out for the long route and make big plays, but they make plays big by getting that 1st down you really need.Chad Johnson and Chris Henry are the #1 type. They are big fast guys who go downfield. TJ and Walter are the #2 type, the short underneath route, possession guys. NO team is successful without a mix of both types of receivers. NYBengalfan
Yes, welcome to BengalsZone. Dont worry about Henry's stats today, Chad was on his game and when he's on his game, Chris isn't going to get as many touches. But when he does it's like Lightning in a Bottle, he is one of the most Explosive WR's in the draft in the past few years.just curious, are you writing a book, and if so what's it calledSo you just leave the number 1 on the bench then huh? That makes no sense.No. Pay attention now. With Chad, TJ and Chris Henry( damn we need a nickname for him) we have the best WR combo in the NFLIs there a nickname for Henry? if not anyone got any suggestion? NFLAuthor
Thanks guys...I appreciate the notes and feedback!I have no intentions to write a book, heck I only read the sports page. My name is a tribute to a long time friend of the family that covers the NFL for a very popular sports mag.
