San Antonio Bengal
It's our division to lose now. What a weird feeling to be in front by 1½ games.
redsbengalsbucks
It was a good week but you guys are way to early to be saying that we own this division. I would have liked to see the Brownies keep the Ravens in check and out of the way. I'm not as worried about the Browns as I am the Ravens actually figuring out an offense. The Steelers are not the same team with Maddox as they are with Big Ben, he does not lose games for them like Maddox does. Big Ben is supposed to be back for next week, the Bengals will have to play a great game from start to finish if they want to beat Pittsburgh. San Antonio Bengal
It was a good week but you guys are way to early to be saying that we own this division. When you are in the lead, it's your job to only keep the other teams behind you. In times past we've always been one of the teams behind, trying to catch up. We're six weeks into the season and we're in front by 1.5 games. Saying it's ours lose is just a statement of fact; it doesn't mean any game will be easy or that anything is guarenteed.
redsbengalsbucks
All I'm saying is a loss to Pitt and a win by them in our by week puts us even and in a real dog fight for this division. I think that it has been so long since the last time any of us saw a Bengals team fighting for the division title that we have forgoten just how hard it is to come out on top. semiotter
I think you guys are jumping the gun a little, but im glad we are in front!!!!
San Antonio Bengal
The two games against Pittsburgh will determine how the division comes out. There's no doubt about that, but they're our games to lose. All that I'm trying to say is that in years past, we've gotten into the heart of division play when we already have losing records. We go into the core division games already needing to catch up. Even if we were to go 4 - 2 or 5 - 1 in the division, we'd still be down because of the early season loses. This year we don't have to catch up. Thats all I mean by the upcoming games being ours to lose. There's no gun to jump here -- we're in the lead after six games and forcing the rest of the division to keep pace with us rather than that other way around. alleycat
I'll risk saying the unpopular: I wanted Pittsburgh to win so that we could win against a one-loss team next week.

AMC
Just browsed through the www.cleveland.com Brown's forum. The majority of the talk is about the 2006 draft. I'm glad it's somebody else for a change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
turningpoint
well that should of been the talk since august.they got great unexpected play from dilfer.Which is a huge posative cause i don;t see them drafting Lienart.theey also have some rb's so i don't see them drafting Bush either.I think Mathias Kiawunka will be their draft pick. NYBengalfan
If we win, let me start over, when we win next week, I think that we'll be getting very close to winning the divison. As of right now it is our division to lose. And I dont blame us for getting too far ahead, it is very exciting for us. But as of now lets enjoy it. redsfan2
We've got a game and a half lead on the Steelers. They are coming off a loss at home and have to play the Bengals @ PBS. ( Without Ben ???? ) We've got the top rated offense and their defense is rated right between us and the Titans ( upon whom we just hung 31 points in their house ) . I'd rather be in our shoes than theirs.Steelers have a good team and you can't take anything away from them ....... BUT .... All the pressure is squarely on them and not us.A little early to talk about the division, but if we split with the Steelers and then just win the games we're supposed to win .... it'll be awfully tough for them to catch us. The way the Ravens looked last week, I thought the Browns would win this one. Divisional games are always tough .... particulalrly in THIS division .... but I don't like the Browns or Ravens chances against the Steelers. I think the Bengals can beat any team at PBS ( road's another story ) ... Ravens IF they can get themselves straight can make it miserable for everybody ..... but only if they get straight. Right now I wouldn't take them and points against Frisco. Browns are a lot more competetive than a lot of people thought they'd be .... but you have to be more than compepetive to beat the Steelers ..... anywhere. Imho only ... We sweep the Browns .... because we already won a close one in Cleveland. We split with the Steelers ....... and on the assumption that the Ravens aren't totally dead we split with them too. That gives us 4 and 2 in the division .... Advantage Bengals.
turningpoint
yep, it's all we need. 4-2 in the division, were gonna sweep the nfc north, and probably go 2-2 vs the afc south.that's 10-4, beating the bills and chiefs are possible also for 11-5 or 12-

Even their fans know it. That's why they're not here talking trash ( or trying to anyway ). Whether the Chiefs win here or not will depend on the position we're in when we play them. If we've got the divison wrapped up, all they'll see is the second team. As to our final record .... I've been saying 10 and 6 since pre season. At this point .... that may have been a bit conservative.
Michigan Bengal
I think we will win the division Except for the Steelers no other team is a real threat, and if we can beat Pittsburgh next week then we will have it locked up. 16-0 baby! Oh ^%@%, well, 15-1 still sounds good.
HoosierCat
SI's Don Banks agrees with turningpoint...http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AqnN...cnnsi&type=lgnsI'll be the first one to say it: If the Bengals can beat visiting Pittsburgh on Sunday, they're definitely going to the playoffs for the first time in 15 years, and they'll get there as the AFC North champion. Cincinnati would be 6-1 at that point, with the Steelers dropping to 3-3. And that gap could even widen because Cincinnati plays three out of four at home after facing Pittsburgh. I like how he was bold enough to bring up the possibility of the Texans outdoing the '76 Bucs... If so, we'd probably be their closest loss....
