SportsNation picks Carson

Not sure how Palmer is winning over McNabb so heavily but oh well. I would have to vote for McNabb if I weren't a Bengals fan - with Palmer a solid #2 so far.

Good to see at least the fans, since the media ignores him, recognizes what a great QB he's becoming.

Meanwhile ESPN can continue licking Big Ben's jock day and night and continue their fascination with him.

You've got to be kidding! Carson is the golden boy of the media (and rightly so). No one is ignoring him. In fact, considering Ben has the higher QB rating and a better overall winning percentage for his career, I'm amazed that he doesn't get more coverage than Carson, but he hasn't this year so far.

I agree, I think Carson has been getting a ton of attention. It seems like he is on ESPN's NFL page at least once a week, and the writers have nothing but good to say about him. On TV, every game the Bengals have won has been credited to the defense and to Carson. Those are two things that last year would have received little press after a solid performance. I think the "experts" are even starting to drop the love for Roethlisberger. They saw how poorly he played against the Patriots in the postseason and this season. They know that Palmer has consistently played like an elite quarterback, while Big Ben's numbers are bound to decline as the level of competition increases.

Also, they also wised up to the fact he was throwing 10 times a game and got to pick his spots when the defense had 9 in the box. Under those circumstances, I'm not sure I couldn't put up a rating of a good 70.

Ben has a higher QB rating because he doesn't the throw the ball nearly as much as Palmer - as much as half as less almost over a season's time. Look at the #'s.

They are very comparable at this stage, but I think Palmer is the more complete QB and has a better arm, and that will come out over time.

Anyone can go into Pitt and be successful with some legitimate talent, turning the Bengals' around is another story, let alone go 8-2 in your last 10 starts. Palmer's basically a 2nd year QB also.

I've seen one interview with him on any national TV program this year, calling him the "golden boy" of the media is a bit far off - even McNabb was shunned last year by the Manning (understandably so) and Ben love fests.

I don't really care about media coverage ultimately (I usually bash those who whine about it constantly) but think people don't realize just how good Palmer really is, and in too many cases, more is made of a bad call or 5 INT's or CJ's check list than how Palmer's handled the pressure of leading the turnaround of the worst losing run in professional sports history.

I'm sure it will come so oh well.

I don't think he was calling Ben more deserving of more attention, but Ben has the statistics that usually get more press. For Palmer to get as much attention as he has while Roethlisberger has continued to put up the afore mentione statistics is remarkable.
