Bobcat Bengal
this game is a must win if we want to make the playoffs. our schedule does get harder in the middle to the end so we need to beat all the teams that we should...and that includes the texans. No, this isn't a must win game to make the playoffs. This is a must win game to maintain respectability. The Bengals are expected to win. So if the Bengals lose, as stated earlier, the current media frenzy of the Bengals will die a harsh death and everyone will come out with the "I told you so". But if the Bengals win, the frenzy will continue and more synics will be stifled.Yeah pretty much.
Benzoo
It's not gonna be that "big" of a win, but it would be a Huge, Crushing defeat. If they win, it will be greeted with shrugs of shoulders, if they lose it will seem like the sky is falling. Stripes
we need like 10 wins to make the playoffs. all games vs sub .500 teams are must wins. I agree with this assessment, it is 100% fact. But. I don't think that makes this game a "big game." If we are to be portrayed as a good team, then this game should be a cakewalk no matter how you slice the cheesecake. Good teams walk over bad teams, and save the "big games" for the likes of Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Indianapolis, etc...
schweinhart
Biggest game in 14 yrs. No question about it in my mind. New England losing to Miami last year was a cakewalk, eh? And what did the lost cost them -- homefield in the AFC chanpionship game. Didn't matter because Cowher is such a mastermind, but put that situation as the difference in homefield between the Bengals and Colts and what do you get?I sincerely hope that the Bengals and the coaching staff are looking at this game as the biggest game for the franchise since the last last playoff game when Kevin Walker ripped Bo Jackson's leg out of socket.I even hope Mike Brown himself goes into the locker room before the game and tells his team as much.....well, not really. Mikey can stay the hell away 4-0 puts this team in the drivers seat as the sked heats up and the teams are less dioriented. So far the Bengals have a win vs a Clowns team that was virtually brand new in all aspects, a Vikes team that had a lot of new defensive players and struggled w/ offseason changes in offense, and a Bears team that started a rook QB and had no real offense in any event. Now the Bengals get a crack at a team disrupted by a hurricane that has just fired it's OC, lost it's 1st 2 games, and looks like it's headed down the toilet. You betchya this is a must win. BengalszoneBilly
But the games against PIT and BAL are still the absolute biggest games overall.Yup. This one isn't. The Bengals stil have to show up, punch the clock and out the lights of the Texans, then look towards next week. I hope our bye week doesn't foul up any huge momentum we may have built by then!
