I say this game is nearly un-losable because of Kyle Orton. Yes, it's on the road, yes the Bears have a solid defense.

He's a freakin' rookie!

Easy dude, don't call the game on the count that the starting QB is a rookie, they too can play football, if they couldn't the teams wouldn't hire them.....Its gonna be a good game!!!!!! :D

The x-factor in this game is getting guys like Rudi, Jeremi, Matt Schoebel, and Chris Perry involved in the passing game. If we try to just use our WRs we are in trouble. If we go everywhere and take what the defense gives us, we will win.

The y-factor in this game is Rudi Johnson wearing down that Chicago interior defensive line.

I voted other... my x-factor is Chris Perry. We haven't had to utilize him a lot yet, but against a strong defense that will be trying to blitz to knock Palmer off his timing, Perry should be able to create some serious mismatches. Doing this a couple of times should force them to put the blitz in their pockets any time Perry is on the field.. giving Chad and T.J. time to get open.

I look to see Perry getting used a lot if our offense isn't effective early.

I think the X-factor will be Chris Collinsworth. You guys should be seeing the Ickey (sp) shuffle all day.

LOL

Okay, that's really lame. Posting is a right not a privilege. BTW if any team should be living in the past it's Chicago.

Back on topic -- I agree with Perry. I think teams game planning for the Bengals can only account for so much. I do not believe anybody's putting the screen or check-down catch on their plate and Perry can do some mad work. We got a glimpse last week, but we will see more this week. It's just not fair (to them).

Oh come on, it was just a joke, I think some of these other guys on here that have replied to some of my threads know I'm pretty objective. I respect your team. I think you guys are tough and it will be a good game. Sorry.

You know, if you want some nostalgia, watch Rudi lower his shoulder and run into linebackers and safeties and corners. It should remind you of a guy named Sweetness. (Not that Rudi is even close to that good, but his style is similar sometimes)

I think the X-factor will be the third wide receiver. Marvin said that he doesn't believe there is a true 3rd wide receiver. The first game was Walter, second Henry, and third who knows. Washington maybe? I think defenses will have a hard time scheme against us because they never know what receivers will be out on the field. Each of our "3" third wide receivers bring something different to the table. IMO I think it will b the way we use are receivers in the game and they way the bears try to defend our receivers.

I voted...other.

The critical factor in the Bears game could very easily be how Palmer performs in the red zone against the Bears defense. If the Bears defense has a defining strength...it's how stingy they are in the red zone. If Palmer has a defining weakness...it's how mistake prone he is in the red zone.

So take the sack, or throw the rock into the 5th row, but get points everytime you get down there because the Bears can't hang with the Bengals in a shootout unless you let them.

Hey, no need to apologize. I typically recognize jokes by the laughter they induce. Thus, while I recognized the intent to create humor, I did not see the actual humor itself (ie, the "lame" call). No harm done.

I must say, I have reviewed your body of work and my impression is that you're kinda hanging around to see what is said about your bears and imply "disrespect" into it. That's cool. I think your d's getting plenty (if not too much) respect. Your offense is getting none-which is about right in my mind. The bears had a very nice win over a division foe last week and you are right to be happy about that. While we could lose, the matchups overwhelmingly favor the Bengals. Oh, and Chris Perry is the "x-factor" -- check him out on Sunday.

I hate to sound pessimistic, but I can see this game being one which Carson throws one of his infamous '7 points for the other team INT.'

The Bears D I think will create turnovers. Its just a matter of when and if they can capitalize from them.

Having said that, I think that the Bengals D will also create TO's, especially with a Green QB at the helm.

Damn, this is gonna be a great game.

:sure:

X-factor will be the Bengals LB's stopping the run in front of them, not chasing it down from behind. Our DTs have done a pretty good job of stopping the run (yes I know the numbers). I just think if they pound the run at us our LBs better step up( someone aside from Odell). It would be nice to see Landon, Simmons, or Pollack step up tomorrow. WHO DEY, IN MARVIN WE TRUST!!

If I had to put a name down, it would be Bryan Robinson. We all know what our offense can accomplish, and even if it struggles against the Bears D I'm confident that, barring stupid turnovers, we can play field position and still come out on top. But that means the D has to do its job. Robinson has been credited with stiffening our run D in the middle (and the Bears tend to run more over guard and tackle than they do outside), and of the 4 sacks the Bears o-line has allowed, 2 came from the LDT slot.

Could also be a good day for Gathers; the Bears have given up their other 2 sacks off the right side (RDE and WSLB), so Jumpy Jr. has a chance to shine.

I've changed my answer. I just heard that Ogunleye is expected to miss the game (game-time decision, but expected not to play). He is a very large part of the Bears pass rush. This will give Palmer plenty of time to dice up their secondary.

I also heard some experts say that the Bears will most likely start the game out with 8 in the box.. so look for Palmer to throw early and often.

With 8 in the box, and basically 1 on 1 coverage on our receivers, we should jump out to a large lead early again. (which makes me wonder if those "experts" know what they're talking about. Why would you put 8 in the box when the hottest player in the NFL is behind center?)

If both of these statements are true, Palmer will be the x-factor. He'll sit in the pocket and pick the Bears apart.
