Can the Bengals handle the Jaguars in week 5?

While I am very impressed with the Bengals (2-0) start and disappointed in the Jaguars (1-1) start, Needless to say I am more excited about the week 5 match up consisting of the Bengals playing the Jaguars at Alltel. This is gonna be one of five most dififcult games y'all have to play this year, With Jacksonville having a very solid defense and the Bengals having a high powered offense, I say this game will be exciting all the way to the very end. And a must watch for any enthusiastic football fan.

Anyways good luck in week 3 and 4, and get ready for primetime!!!!!! Go Jags!!! ;)

Yep, we're all psyched about this game, no doubt it'll be a toughie. If we can manage to get through Chicago and Houston, then this will be a fun Sunday Night. I'll love hearing ESPN rant about it on pregame shows and Sportscenter. Great times for Bengals fans.

4-0 Cincinnati Bengals? Wow. Sounds groovy to me!

Easy tigers. Let's beat the bears first, then speculate on the Jags.

Exactamundo! Prime time games are always exciting to think about, but like Marvin Lewis said, and I quoted in my sig:

“We get to write the script,” Marvin Lewis said of a fast start. “We’re going to keep writing it one day at a time. One game at a time.”

Dude get excited about it, its gonna be one helluva game, I know I am excited about it!!!! :D

Jags (WelcomeToBengalszoneGladToHaveYouHerEnjoyYourStayDon'tBeAStrangerComeBackSoonBlahBlahBlah...Whew!) we

are excited. VERY! But this season just isn't another season for the Bengals. This season promises to be quite special. We know it. The team certainly knows it, and the rest of America is beginning to find out. We're simply not going to get too worked up about anything EXCEPT the next game on the schedule. In two week Jacksonville is it. If the Bengals happen to be 4-0 at that time, then the excitement will only be that much more intense.

Until then good luck to your Jaguars, (Us cool cats gotta stick together!) and be ready for some prime time fun! B)

We'll handle the jags if we beat the bears, the way i see it.

My fellow season ticket holder is going to that game....16hr drive!!!!!

The Jags are a better team then the Bears, the bears will not give the Bengals a hard time like the Jags will. The bears may be an "easy" game compared to what the Jags will do come week 5, We may have similar styles of play but the Jags pullit off better. Anyways its gonna be an exciting game!!!

Chill out... jesus its too far of to get excited about.....We play the Bears this week ..thats our focus..

maybe if your team focused on the game at hand they wouldnt have a loss ...we play the texans after that...

we arent even talking about Houston yet let alone Jax...come back the week of the game and we'll talk

This board is kinda funny...it's as if we are a part of the team...forever we hear how players are supposed to not look beyond their next game and that's how teams lose games.

But who says fans can't do so...but everytime someone posts something about games down the road their are several of us who post to not get ahead of ourselves as if the players check this site every night before they tuck in and we don't want to distract them.

We don't affect the game one iota unless we go to a game not thinking of that game but solely focused on the following one and forget to cheer...and even then we would have to get 60,000+ other people to join us in that thinking.

Maybe that's what we are trying to avoid...bon fire spreading futristic fans...if so, keep up the good work. If not...

When we go into our bye week 9-0...

Jagger -- are you serious? You have the Jets on the road this week and you're thinking about how you will be one of OUR tougher games this season. While my impression is the Jets are not as good as I thought they would be so far, you could easily lose this game. How effective will Leftwich be -- is he okay or hurting a little more than he wants to admit? He took some shots last week. A lot will happen in the next couple of weeks. It's not that I think me looking ahead will jinx the Bengals or anything, I just think that this game will look a lot different so it's not worth thinking about matchups or anything at this point. Here's something to think about though -- if we're still the #1 offense in the NFL come Jax Sunday -- you will lose.

I think some of y'all are misinterpreting the meaning of this thread. I'm sure he is as focused on the Jets game as we are on the Bears game, but why not start the buzz a bit early about what may very well end up being the most exciting week of both teams' regular season schedules?

While the Bears are number one on my mental priority list, the Jag game is still on my mind. I can't wait!

Who isn't looking forward to the lone primetime game of the season ?? Imagine us coming into that game at 4-0... Talk about excitement !!! People will be talking up that game something fierce. We are allowed to look forward, we aren't playing on the team, so everyone chill out !!! Have some fun with this, cause God knows it's been a long time since we've been able to !!! Bring on Chicago, we've got something for them !!! :2guns: And for those of you with your panties stuck up your ass and unable to have a good time... :finger:

The Jag's game has bothered me since the schedule came out. The way I looked at the schedule was that we had a very favorable first 4 games. Our schedule is rather favorable by the fact we play most of our difficult opponents at home (At the time I was looking at the Vikings, GB, Indy and Buffalo games,,,things have changed, obviously - lol).

PLaying in Jacksonville, on Sun night is going to be tough. Now I heard you lost one of your starting DB's for the year...unfortunatly that works to our advantage. I hate to see anyone get hurt!

Ahh well. See you on Oct 9th!

Exactly my point. Two weeks ago the Green Bay game might have been a big game for us. Now.....not so much. Jax is 1-1 -- if they take a dump for two weeks they could come in here 1-3. How big a game is that one now? But, for all of you that think its great fun to look down the road -- the only games that matter to me based on what we know is true now, and will be true then, are on Oct. 23 and Dec. 4. Those are the only games that I look at right now and say they are going to absolutely be huge. Wasn't that fun!(?)

I know the Jags defense held Manning to a very poor passer rating, but the Indy offense has been less than impressive so far this season. The Jags offense has also been less than impressive, especially if Leftwich isn't completly healthy... and that O-line is gettingh im and Fred Taylor both killed out there. I doubt we'll see Taylor in that game in week 5 if it keeps up.

On the other hand, if it really was their defense that was the primary reason that Indy could only manage 10 points, we could be in trouble. If the loss of their SS and Palmer's hot hand is enough to dice them though, I look for a very good game. At this point, the national media is more impressed with Cincy than Jacksonville, and I would tend to agree with that in these early stages of the season.
