Dadraftnick
Has anyone looked at what Elvis Dumervile did last week? 11 tackles 8 solo tackles 7 tackles for loss for 55 yards 2 forced fumbles and most most importantly 6 SACKS !! And that is for one game! The Bengals need to send someone down to take a look at this guy.He plays for Louisville, they have really been putting out some quality players of late.I wonder how they are recruiting these guys.Anyway guys keep an eye on this guy.6 sacks is not bad for a 10 game season but for one game is fantastic. The_Next_Big_Thing
Given your theory on why we shouldn't have drafted Chris Perry, I can only assume this dude is a 7th round pick you'd hype to pick in the first round.... Stripes
He had a huge game, but lets wait and look for some consistency before we start touting him as a possible phenom. If he can get six sacks against Boston College, then I'll be more inclined to believe any hype.

alleycat
I'm watching him on ESPN right now versus Oregon State and he already has 2 sacks and a forced fumble at the start of the second quarter. Amazing speed off the edge.

I have no theory that we should have not drafted Chris Pery.Get you stuff straight. I said that we would have been better off to at least take a player that would have been activated every week when you are using a 3rd round on CHRIS HENRY .Enough with the personal attacks. This thread was about Dumerville who took the game into his own hands and looked like a monster today. And oh by the way broke an NCAA record, while not even playing the whole game because Louisville smashed Oregon State 63-27 I dont even think he played the 4rd quarter.Dumerville has 9 sacks in 2 games(NCAA record) if he keeps up that pace he would end up with over 45 for the year. While I doubt that he will have that many I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that this guy is good.Nine sacks is not a bad total for a year let alone 2 games. He impressed Chris Spielman who I have nothing but respect for.By the way keep an eye on Montavious Stanley on Lousville who is a very solid DT. TJJackson
....we shouldn't have drafted Chris Perry......Exactly. :-)We should have drafted an OL, DL, or TE at that spot.
UofLnMU
Dumerville is sick. (Yeah, I'm a Louisville fan, but damn!) He is a little undersized, but he has great game speed to make up for it, ala David Pollack. The potential DL pick on that team is Montavious Stanley (went to Deion Branch's HS in Albany, GA). He is a hard SOB.But the first round talent on that squad is Mario Urrutia WR (had almost 175 yards today). He has incredible size and speed. And he is a freshman. He could be a monster by the time his Louisville career comes to a close.
alleycat
After watching, I totally agree. My first time watching UofL this year but it seems like those three guys came out of nowhere. Dumervil was spending most of the game on the sideline and still managed 3 sacks and two ff. That receiver is going to be something and Stanley will climb the boards two the middle rounds anyway.

Hey UofL just beat the crap-ola out of Oregon St. 62-27. So Kentucky lost by 7 to da Cards, so UK might not be so bad.

schweinhart
Or Reinard Wilsonish.Dumervil didn't stand out last year in Louisville game action I saw. Marcus Jones stood out more to me at DE for SSLB potential in the NFL. But I look forward to watching Dumervil in action some this year. The Bengals proly do need to think hard on DE next year if they want to continue a 4-3 alignment. Smith will be in the last year of his contract, Clemons will most likely be gone, and Powell should be gone too unless he remains grafted to Marvin's hip. That'll pretty much leave Jumpy Jr., Fanene, and Pollack to go along w/ Smith, which would proly work just fine.In any event, the DE draft class past Kiwi is looking a might thin.So far from senior DEs, I liked most what I saw of Eric Henderson of Ga Tech. His spin moves, pivots, and power on the punch gave Marcus McNeil some real trouble.Among possible early entries, Mario Williams of NC State is hands down the best I've seen this year at DE and if he goes draft he's proly the 2nd DE picked after Kiwi. Incredible how a coaching change can turn such a horrible team historically into one that wins games. Sounds kinda familiar...
schweinhart
Mario Williams sure do look a lot like one Julius Peppers....and Manny Lawson still look a little too much like a Manute Bol, even w/ the extra 20 lbs from last year.
