Jonboat Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 I was just wondering what you guys thought of him in the limited time he has played. I know he missed out on alot with the holdout. I thought he looked great his first game for a rookie but after watching tape of the Colts game & keeping an eye on him he looked lost ,which is to be expected, can we afford @ this point to take snaps away from LJ. I think we'll ease him in there but 1 play now can cost us a ballgame. Will we primarly play him @ end while practicing him @ LB until he gets comfortable? GO BENGALS!!! Jonboat Quote
Stripes Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 He looks like in time he'll be a good football player. His burst off the line is excellent when he's at DE, and at linbacker, he has played well too. He did struggle some in pass coverage during his preseason, but that is to be expected from someone learning a new position. Sooner than later, he'll be a good'un. Quote
mtmeece Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 I noticed that he seemed to be looking around quite a bit as though he was looking for direction from his teammates which is not the worst thing. It will take a little while to adjust to life in the NFL. I also think that his strong motor will make up for some of this and will also cause him to over commit at times. Quote
rudi32 Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 Pollack has made a few plays, but he looks tentative at times, which is no doubt due to the new position and missed practice time. Let's hope he's a fast learner, because this defense needs all the help it can get. Quote

swordman Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 sorry big O but english bengals does it too.... Quote
The Big Orange Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 so does duus, I've noticed...As far as Pollack...love his attitude, but outside of his burst, I've seen nothing to get me excited yet in his play. Overpursuing just doesn't do it for me. Quote
walzav29 Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 He seems, just like he is. A guy who looks lost because he held out. We'll see him in November. He doesn't seem to fly like Odell, but that's probably the position switch. He doesn't seem that intense though. Quote

I guess it's a just a habit , I'll work on that Big guy, as long as it takes me to type it would save me probably 2-3 minutes!! GO BENGALS!!! Jonboat ( Oh damn I did it again, I guess old habits are hard to break!) Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 He has shown that he can be a decent pass rusher possibly. He apparently will be used on passing situations for now at DE and Geathers moved inside to DT.What we haven't seen from Pollack yet is if he can play LB or not effectively.Even without Clemons (bigger loss than people are realizing) this team better have a very good pass rush or they will give up points just like last year. And with all these speed guys and 3 legitimate pass rushers in on passing downs (Smith, Pollack, Geathers) you'd think they would be able to achieve some consistency there...because they will need it. BengalBax Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 Not impressed at all really. Let's see how things unfold Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 Not impressed at all really. Let's see how things unfold Does anything at all impress you BAX? I seem to recall Perry not impressing, Rudi not impressing, and Carson not impressing. Quote
Kazkal Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 with clemons out I picture him getting alot of snaps at DE on 3rd down either pash rushing or dropping back for more coverage,I doubt theyll replace LJ with him till they think he can step up Quote

The only ones I have slammed hard is Carson, Justin Smith, and Pollack. Wow, the nerve of some people! Quote
