Section 310
This is currently on CBSSportsline...Notice that he leaves the Ravens and Steelers out of the playoffs...is he stupid or just bold?? Let's hope he is right. What good is it to not publish a Super Bowl pick? True, Fantasy Football is my 72-ounce cup of tea, but I love the entire game of football and can break it down. Besides, if I don't know which teams will win and lose, how can I gauge their players? In the AFC: Nobody's stopping New England (my boss will be happy with me for this one -- more on this below) or Indianapolis, so they'll be there at the end along with Oakland and Cincinnati (I've drank enough kool-aid for both teams this year -- they both will surprise). I offer the wild-card spots to the Jets and Chargers, in that order. In the NFC: Carolina is the cream of the crop, and it's not because I saw them labeled as champions in some magazine. The Stephen Davis news kind of shakes me up, however. Philadelphia will still come out ahead in the NFC East, I like Seattle in the West and Chicago in the North with a 9-7 record. Minnesota and St. Louis will be your wild cards. In the playoffs: Look, nobody is touching the Patriots-Colts Championship Game. Not Randy Moss, not LaDainian Tomlinson, not Curtis Martin. Television executives would pit these two teams against each other every week if they could. But at the risk of being fired, I am going with Indianapolis as the AFC Champions: Peyton Manning has to do it sometime, they could end up with home-field advantage and the additions of DT Corey Simon and LB Rocky Calmus cements their defense. Carolina will coast to the NFC title -- that defense is just too talented.
Stripes
Gotta love it. I agree that if the Bengals win the divsion, that neither the Steelers nor the Ravens will be in the playoffs. The divsion is so competitive, and even getting to 9-7 would be an accomplishment for any of the three teams.

This time Palmer won't blow it in the last two minutes. Yea Palmer threw the INT, but he had already led the team to one fourth quarter TD and had them driving for another one.You can't pin that loss onh Palmer ... That loss is pinned on the run defense. Curtis Martin 196 yards??? BLECH!

andybren
If he's citing the Raiders to win the division, you know he's not just jumping on bandwagons. But still, who is this guy? Seriously, a name would help. Haven't we all learned our lessons from the wave of mediocre punditry we've seen in the past few months? Why should this guy be any more right than the Steeler-homer that they'll publish next week?

Anyway, Oakland has a better team than i expected, but obviously he wouldn't pick them to win the division now.
