walshfan Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Looking at the matchup of our DE's and their DT's Id have to say I like the odds of Geathers and Smith applying allot of pressure on Dilfer..Geathers is going up against LJ Shelton a massive tackle but very slow.. I think he can get around him consistently to force pressure and get sacks.Smith is opposed by Ryan Tucker who has never been known as a guy that is consistant on pass blocking... Will Geathers and Smith make the impact on this game Im hoping they will??? Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 We can only hope. The key to this game, in my opinion, is Odell Thurman having a massive game against the Clowns run game. Quote

If he lights us up, the Bengals are drafting in the top 10 next year. Quote

I believe Suggs has been cleared to start, and he's a pretty good back, and has burned us before. Quote

Bengals4Me Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 If the Clowns can't run effectively, then I agree that it should be a fun, productive game for our DE's. The question is that first "IF" - it's huge! Quote
Stripes Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 I can't imagine the Browns running game being overly affective, and not because of our defense. That offensive line will have problems with the speed on our defensive line, as has been mentioned. The Browns might have to rely on pitches and reverses to get the running game going. With our young fast defense, that could pose trouble. Overpursuit will be an early problem. Quote
volcom69 Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Dont forget about Pollack i think if they play him he can cause some problems for the dawgs o-line. Im excited to see if he can do anything this will be a great time to see what we got with the 1st pick. Quote

I'm more worried about him covering those Browns tight ends that killed us last year without Kellen Winslow. Quote
PalmerforPresident Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 our front 7 have got to come up huge and stop the run early. if we force dilfer to win this game with his arm, we have a great chance. Quote
