Stripes
http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation...g?event_id=1583ESPN is holding a poll about Griffey's season and his future. It looks like the rest of the baseball world has noticed what he'saccomplished this year, and he'll win the award by a landslide if this poll is any indication. Hopefully the injury he sustained today is minor, as it appeared to be.
Kirkendall
Is the award fan voting now? JESUS. Note to Bud: STOP WITH THE FAN VOTING!!!!!!
Stripes
Is the award fan voting now? JESUS. Note to Bud: STOP WITH THE FAN VOTING!!!!!! No, I don't think it is fan voting. I just meant that this fan poll indicates most think Griffey should get the award, and maybe the people that do vote will feel the same way. Yea, I think even a monkey -- or a Browns fans -- would see Jr. as the Comeback Kid. I was watching the game yesterday when Griff limped into 3rd. What's weird my first reaction was, "here we go again".
Stripes
Heh, I'm sure every Reds fan watching had the same feeling.
bengalboomer7
Easy Comeback player of the year. But I hate how Griff is not mentioned in any Greatness category anymore. The man was probably one of the greatest players ever for about ten years and if(I know that if word sucks ass) it wasn't for four years of injury we'd be talking about how long it be before Griff passes Bonds. And griff has absolutely blown UP the second half of this season. Get some pitching and go win that man a ring
skyline
I heard some talk of Giambi possibly having a shot at the award on ESPN radio...
Kirkendall
I heard some talk of Giambi possibly having a shot at the award on ESPN radio... You're right. Giambi has had a great year and Griffey may be out for the year..
Stripes
Giambi has a shot, but I can't see him winning it over Griffey. It seems like Griffey's season has been noticed by more people, and his overall numbers are just better. If the Yankees make the playoffs and go deep into them (I'm not sure when they give the award) then Giambi's chances will skyrocket, depending on his role in that playoff run. Stripes
Nice. Both of them were more than deserving. I was worried Griffey may miss out on the award for his late season injury, but nope.
