davejames88 Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 Why isn't this guy playing with the 1st string sqaud instead of Schobel? I seem Schobel in there with 4 wide? I could cover him .. Walters is a baller.. LET HIM PLAY!! Quote
Stripes Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 Just for the record, for all others guilty of this error, it is "Walter." I don't know why they'd be lining Schobel up wide, so you have a point. I'd like to see Walter have more opportunities against the number 1's but there is only so much time in a game. Everyone needs playtime, and Walter will have to wait his turn i suppose. Quote
davejames88 Posted August 27, 2005 Author Report Posted August 27, 2005 I just think Walter would give them a better chance to complete a 3rd and long rather than Schobel.Henry looked good again!! Quote
schnarfer Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 they leave Schobel in so that opposing defenses have to match personal and maybe they can get a mismatch...When it comes to it the bengals will put 4 or 5 wide at time and execute the 5-10 yard passes that you can with that set. Schobel will make consistent 5-10 yard catches and will break a few longer ones...He will be most effective in the Red zone... Quote
davejames88 Posted August 27, 2005 Author Report Posted August 27, 2005 Mismatch? Schobel on a LB isn't a mismatch in the Bengals favor. Walter vs a LB is plus he catches everything thrown to him.. I like Schobel but I think Walter is a better receiver and much quicker than Schobel. Quote
kingwilly Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 Schoebel wide does not create a mismatch 9 out of 10 times. Walters as the third WR means he has outplayed KW and henry. He is not as tall/jump as high as Henry, does not seem as strong as KW so until he moves past them in practice, he will have to be happy covering kicks/punts and mopping up vs third teamers.I'd like to see Walters get a chance with 1st team vs Indy to give him an honest chance and a baseline for evlauations vs Henry/KW. Scottishbengal Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 He will be most effective in the Red zone... That'll make a change Quote
RedsFan75 Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 The only thing I could see in lining Schobel up wide would be if they needed to audible back and use him as full back, It would give them more flexibility that another WR in that slot...( and that's just looking for some reason in it.) The_Next_Big_Thing Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 At least Schobel seems to have learned to block. I've changed my mind, for now, and hope he makes the roster for a change. Quote
