cincyhokie
Is it just me or does it seem like Bratowski is constantly trigger happy when it comes to the passing game? Rudi has been the most consistent player this pre-season and I dare say looks BETTER than last year. With Rudi running well and making big gains along with Chris Perry helping the cause, it would be wise for this offense to pound the ball as many times as the other team will allow.Control the clock, wear down the opponent, soften up their pass defense....and most importantly keep this young defense off the field as much as possible. The defense is going to improve as the year goes on but if we don't keep the ball out of the opposing offenses hands as much as possible, we are in for a long first half of the season. The first game against Cleveland should be NOTHING but a straight shot of Rudi and Perry down the Browns throats for the first TWO drives. Anything less and Brat confirms my thoughts that he is a trigger happy dumbass.
bengalboomer7
I thought I seen a little of that starting the second half. But good point about Rudi, the guy looked like a human pinball out there. I bet it hurts to try and hit him
cHaD711Johnson
Is it just me or does it seem like Bratowski is constantly trigger happy when it comes to the passing game? He's just trying to get Carson and the Wrs to develop a rhythm..
HoosierCat
Controlling the clock had far less to do with Brat's playcalling and far more to do with all the dropped passes. Hard to control the clock when your offense can't convert.
Stripes
The Bengals aren't going to employ that strategy in a preseason game, for risk of injury to Rudi or Perry, and as chad711johnson said, the passing game needs all the opportunities it can get to develop better rythm. I can agree with that but I thought we abandoned the run too early in games last year. It is the preseason I will admit but there had better be a well thought out game plan against the Browns or we may be in for a long day. Bobcat Bengal
Rudi has me holding me breath on every play. Its never a quick 4 yard gain. Its either being stopped for a loss, or breaking tackles and grabbing 15 yards.Too unstable for my liking. cincyhokie
I think that Perry will improve Rudi's play this year. He's going to be fresher and not have to run the ball ALL game long. Rudi will help Perry as well. The reason Rudi is good, especially against weaker teams like the Browns is that he wears them down. He's not as effective against better defenses but he's still a good grinding back. Your comment about him getting caught for losses and then breaking for 15 yards is his only flaw and it's this inconsistency that I think makes Bratowski go to the passing game too early and too often. Bwestbrook36
they are a great 1-2 punch. that will be what wins us the games against the ravens, steelers and bills games.
InsultComicDog
Whatever you do, don't lose sight of the fact that this is preseason. Every team has its own things they want to accomplish in any particular game and the overall successes and failures in a preseason game don't amount to much. Obviously in a regular season game you'd more of the types of plays that the Bengals are already confident in and therefore don't need to work on as much.
