4-12 at the very best....

I have been so faithful for too long to see this happen every year. Dare I say same 'ol....

4-12 at the very best. Dropped passes, blown coverages, missed tackles.... you know the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Here's to another meaningless January, thank you Bengals, I'll just retreat to my room and die now....

9-7 or 10-6...same as always.

Man, can you guys actually comprehend the word preseason?

9-7 or 10-6, possibly 11-5. That's what I said before the preseason, and I see no reason to change anything. Take it easy y'all. Last year the Patriots went 1-3 in the preseason, and finished the regular/postseason at 17-2.

Coverages will be blown. We have a new coordinator trying all sorts of different things looking for ways to have success. Passes will be dropped. This will happen. Who has been the worst dropper thus far this preseason? Washington or Houshmandzadeh? Sure, Kelly Wash drops passes, but that's nothing new. Do you really expect T.J. to allow himself to drop an alarming number of balls in games that count? He lives and dies by his route running and his hands.

I haven't really seen missed tackles being an issue with the starters so far. The corners are having some problems, but not anything worthy of downplay, they'll be fine. Odell has looked wonderful, Pollack had a nice game, Landon has been solid, as has Simmons. Don't forget, our emerging star on defense has yet to play, when Madieu gets on the field, I think he'll show us what the defense is really capable of.

As for last year's issues being repaired, I've been very impressed. We've been stopping the run (at least with the starters). The D-line is clogging the holes and is getting an excellent and consistent pass rush.

The offense has looked poor, but it's only a matter of time until that talent pool gets it going. Carson Palmer. Chad Johnson. Rudi Johnson. Chris Perry. Willie Anderson. The list goes on and on. The early schedule gives the offense a nice opportunity to get timing down, because we won't be facing any elite defenses, except maybe the Bears.

Preseason positives -> Converting on 3rd down (thanks to Perry). Pass rush is looking good. Red zone mismatches (Henry and Perry). Kevin Walter looking like a roster lock. H.D. Jones giving us hope at strong safety. Pollack playing well in his first game.

Long story short:

The Bengals will be fine.

I wish I knew how to save threads and bring them back up later.

I have a big feeling a lot of you will be eating your words till you're full come december!

And it would be nice to have the evidence when it comes time.

You can always find ANY thread EVER on this website. The moderaters certainly have faster ways, but we lesser folk can just use the "find all posts by this member" option on our own names and find any threads we've ever posted in.

I'll change mine a bit...I have said 10-6 all offseason, but there is a pretty good chance that we could go 9-7.

We won't be 8-8 again...at least I hope we won't be.

6-10

Says the man with the marquee that flashes " THE ROAD TO DETROIT "

Take that damn signature down.

I was about to say something about that too...then I noticed it said "featuring Chris Perry" and figured it was useless.

Where does it say they're going to Detroit? If they do get to Detroit, is the road there going to feature Chris Perry? Yes. I'm a fan of the Bengals. I want them to get to Detroit...does that mean they're going to get there? no.

When I put 6-10, I was thouroughly disgusted with the Eagles game. I hate when we lose. I've said 9-7 or 10-6, since the end of last season. I'm just a fan that thinks the sky's falling if we lose for the next day or so. Even in the pre-season.

I really think im going to have a nervous breakdown before the season starts...Hers an idea, lets jump on the band wagon before preseason, then once it starts. Bash them as much as possible. Have a little faith in your team

It's all groovy. We all know what it's like to lose, and it is understandable why some people are wary to keep their hopes up. Lets hope a nice blowout in Cleveland will get our spirits back where they should be.
