rcarpenter62 Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 Apparently neither Anderson or Jones practiced today? I just pray these aren't injuries that will linger on through the regular season. It would be just the Bengals luck if they get killed by injuries all year that cost them wins. Quote
bengalskyspy Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 I think they are just taking it slow in order to prevent lingering injuries. One thing Marvin learned is that simply being gung ho all the time won't keep his players on the field. Quote

I'm pretty worried about Willie. He had that surgery that Mo Vaughn and Terrell Davis got as a last resort, and I haven't seen it prove particularly successful yet. Quote

Willie's was a scheduled off day after his first 2 on days. They have already said that he wont play this Friday, holding off until the final preseason game. I am not worried about Big Willie. As for Jones, I also think they are taking it easy. He has played alot this preseason [especially compared to last season] and we dont need him banged up for early in this season [like last season]. Plus, Jones is one tough SOB, I have faith he will regardless of the situation - remember, he is at minimum playing for a contract extension. Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 There is a good article by Hobson right now about Willie's injury and the severity of it./ Quote
TJJackson Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Injuries to a number of key (or at least important) players such as both starting tackles, Madieu, Kenny Watson, Shayne Graham, Peter Warrick, Reggie Kelly, and my main man (look just to the left of this post) Reggie Myles have left me quite a bit concerned. Only two weeks to the start of the season, and it's good that Andrews is getting a lot of snaps in the place of Big Willie, but stil....we need these guys healthy and all I see is that they aren't even probable...they are all questionable or worse.....suggesting it might be a while til we see them in action. walshfan Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 Look at most teams injury reports for the upcoming games and they are as widespread as ours..nature of the beast...On the bright side I dont think the injuries will keep most of the starters out of the lineup for the game with Cleveland...All teams will start the season with starters have minor injuries...Willie Anderson has been working hard to get back on the field..He's down to 332lbs which is good news...sounds lilke he'll be in very good shape for the long haul...
