No, you are blinded by your dislike of me. I made this post because I wanted to discuss how awesome Chris Perry is. Anything that keeps this thread going is good for me. And I didnt repeat any arguements, I have numerous valid arguements. Far more than the Rudi Johnson side has.

Also, I will continue displaying this opinion untill Chris Perry is a starter, either with the bengals, or somewhere else.

BTW haters, it looks like more than half of the posters here think that Chris Perry will be starting here by 06. Chances are most of them are closet Perry fans, they dont want to voice their opinions because everyone except me and a few others here are sheep. Its like Spains comment, they are only capable of group thinking. Afraid to stand out in the group because they don't want to look different. Thats why using a poll was such a great idea.

Ok, you state that you posted this thread to discuss why Chris Perry should be the starter. But I must confess, I have yet to see why you think Perry should start over Rudi. You list what Rudi is projected to make over the length of the contract, but that does not support your view point. All I have seen is you and HoF baiting each other and not much else.

As far as group thinking. It is because we have all seen what Rudi has done and have formed the same opinion based on the evidence produced. Would you like me to start listing it to jog you memory? Until there is viable evidence produced to change the thinking (for which no evidence has been), then expect everyone to say that Rudi should be the starter.

He starts when we trade him to Philly or to Miami.

Oh, you meant on the Bengals? That'd be after (err, if) Rudi gets injured. He'll have a better shot next year when Kenny Watson is eligible for FA and the Bengals "allow him to leave" on the basis that Perry is cheaper, albeit not better.

Right, Kenny Watson is better than Chris Perry... keep thinking that, and we will all keep laughing at you.

Right now Kenny Watson is still better than Chris Perry

But Perry is showing some good things -- much what you would expect from a Day 1 pick. When Day 1 picks like a Larry Johnson or Steven Jackson or even above average Day 2 backs like Meldewe Moore, Turner the Burner, or Brandon Jacobs gets their snaps, they generally show some of the reasons why they were coveted and why they compete for PT.

Perry still needs a lot of work w/ leg strength. The make-a-move-and watch-the-tackler-miss bit gets great points for flashy style but on the whole it takes too much time. Watch Dillon -- he either shifts direction at a 45-degree angle without changing stride, makes a severe and total cut to change direction, or follows his blockers unti his vision gets him free.

There's no disputing Dillon is a great back. Perry is not.

But Perry receiving skills make him valuable and w/ a QB as good as CP is, sooner or later the call has to be made to spread more and use a lot of 1-back w/ an H-back. When that happens, you'll see the change. Rudi making $3-million in 2007 looks like a pretty good indicator of that happening then.

 Just goes to show how foolish you really are. This whole post of mine is me baiting. Baiting at its finest, and you fell right into the trap. Look at it, 4 pages of this discussion, and I've enjoyed every second of it. All your 'baits' did was help keep this thread going, and give me more of an excuse to preach that Chris Perry is better than Rudi Johnson.

Pushy, you strange little 'tard. You don't need to remind me that all you're doing is baiting people. Read my post and even you will realize that I already knew that. In fact, it's precisely why I said I baited my own hook. Can't you read, little man?And your admitting that your intent to bait when you start threads like these is just another admission that you're less interested in debating real issue than constantly stirring the pot over stupid ones. Getting you to admit that is no great trick, but it's fun to do because it makes those who agree with you look far more stupid than those who bother debating you.

But again, my favorite part about your endless rant is the way you've taken both sides of the same issue. Perry was a wasted pick. Perry is a freakin' god. It's not the fact that you've taken both sides of the same issue that cracks me up....it's the idea that in doing so you've managed to be wrong on both counts. Best of all, I know if I poke you with a stick about your earlier opinion you'll admit you were wrong in the same breath that you defend your original stance. Simply put, you're still trying to defend your original views even as you boast about admitting your mistakes. Thusw, you're a fugtard who talks out of both sides of his mouth....news that won't shock anyone.

Last, if anything is made clear in threads like this one it's most Bengal fans find the question you ask less interesting than the answers. Most of us consider it a positive that the Bengals have two talented players who bring different things to the field. By comparison, you're more interested in baiting fans by writing stuff intended to get a reaction and your own actions prove you're not above taking both sides of the same issue while claiming you were right each time.

Perry was a wasted pick? Perry is a god? All any of us know for sure is Pushy is a stupid little fugtard who speaks with baited breath.

 U mad?

I don't think I should keep having to repeat this, but since some of us (HairOnFire) are slower than others (like me), I guess ill have to.

I never took the side of the argument that Perry was a wasted pick. My initial reaction was it was unnecessary, even though I had him as the 2nd best RB in the draft, and within 30 mins of the pick I loved it, and have since.

Cue another HoF emotional outburst.

With Perry, I don't think he will really ever be the starter in Cincy until Rudi leaves or gets hurt, but I think it is not out of the question to think he will touch the ball more than most backup RB's. He has shown instincts, and the kid looks real good out there, a perfect complement to Rudi Johnson. Is he better than Rudi though? Hell no. Not yet. However, I believe they will form a feared duo in this league as soon as maybe this year. I am loving the depth we have at offensive skill positions. If one star goes down, another starter-calibur player takes his place. In conclusion, don't start getting your hopes for Perry too high, because as of now, and most likely this whole season, he is a backup and hopefully a third down back.
