lando griffin Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 Jim Rome had Carson on today and they both gave props to the Cincinnati fans for sticking with it through 15 years of s**t. Carson admitted he's a bandwagon fan himself and basically said he doesn't know how we put up with watching crap for the past 15 years and can't wait to get to the playoffs for us...He went on to say the city is all pumped up for the season and anything less than the playoffs is unacceptable.I can't get enough of the national media giving love to the bengals, it might take me a few years to get used to not being a laughingstock...WhoDey! DesperateDerelict Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 Jim Rome sucks . . . he has always sucked, and will always suck, forever and ever, Amen! Quote
WhoDey93285 Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 I actually like Jim Rome. He isn't afraid to give his opinion like so many sports analysts and such these days. I didn't get to see the show, but from the sounds of it, it sounds like Carson really wants to get to the playoffs for the fans. We have been though alot, you know? And it's going to take me awhile to get used to not being the laughing stock, also. Quote
Ickey44 Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 Jim Rome sucks . . . he has always sucked, and will always suck, forever and ever, Amen! I most certrainly agree. Quote
lando griffin Posted August 17, 2005 Author Report Posted August 17, 2005 I agree, I don't like Jim Rome and usually don't listen to him, but after Lance finished up this afternoon and Rome said Carson was going to be on I had to listen. Quote
BlainThePain Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 I hate Jim Rome too. Its not because he is brash its because he tries to be brash just to get attention. Quote
derekshank Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 I hate Jim Rome too. Its not because he is brash its because he tries to be brash just to get attention. In total agreement with you. Most people don't like Jim Rome... it's by design. he is intentionally obnoxious, because people listen to the radio if they know there will be controversy. His ploy has worked on many of you.He is ebrasive, opinionated, and dogmatic... all for the ratings, and hs are quite high, despite the fact that I've never talked to someone who likes the guy. Interesting. His whole goal is to get people to say things like:Jim Rome sucks . . . he has always sucked, and will always suck, forever and ever, Amen!I personally don't listen to him, because I think his "brashness" is a cop out for good journalism. He can't hack it as a normal radio personality, so he gets his ratings in the only way he knows how... making people mad. It works, so I can't fault him for it... he's just the sports version of Rush Limbaugh (we all knew Rush couldn't be the sports version of Rush), and frankly I think it's a tired act.On the positive side... I'm pumped that Carson empathizes for us, and wants to bring us the playoffs. It's all on you CP! We trust you! Quote

CTBengalsFan Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 I hate Jim Rome, and not in a "I-hate-you-but-I'm-still-gonna-watch-your-show" way, more of a "I-hate-you-and-I'm-turning-the-channel" way. Quote
Stripes Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 Jim Rome tries too hard to be JT the Brick. He fails. They may have radio shows on the same station, and Rome may have a TV gig, but JT is far more deserving. I don't know if anyone listens to Game Time React on Fox Sports Radio at night, but if you don't, it's worth a listen. Quote
Ox Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 Actually, Rome has been around way before JT the Brick. He has been at this act for a looonng time. I enjoy his show. It is true, the first couple times a listened it was annoying, but after that I got what he was doing. I think he is quite funny. He basically just says outright what a lot of fans are thinking. DesperateDerelict Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 He basically just says outright what a lot of fans are thinking. Really? Well, I'm thinking he's a lying, self-serving, self-promoting sensationalist who has the journalistic integrity of a Tijuana whore. He' not a guy I 'enjoy to hate', but a pimple on the underside of the sportsworld. After the staged "Chrissy" episode with Jim Everett, I will go out of my way NOT to listen to him. I don't care if he has Jesus Christ on his show(s), I'm turning the channel, with or without a remote. In short, he's an a$$hole, and needs to find another vocation - pimp or insurance salesman comes to mind. I agree he is a jerk, what he did to JIM/CRIS Everett was not funny too bad Jim did not connect with the punches he threw. Quote

Yes, Really. The good part of a radio is two things: 1: The OFF button2: The tuner.Honestly, if you don't like him, you don't have to listen! It's not really a big deal, since he has some of the highest ratings in his line of business, radio. Dude must be doing something right. Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 Come on guys, he's just doing his job and being a "radio personality(personalitiy being the key word) I'm sure in real life Jim isn't that bad, but his personality on the radio gets him ratings and I don't blame him for being that way. Dude's just trying to get his paper like the rest of us. Quote
semiotter Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 Jim Rome sucks . . . he has always sucked, and will always suck, forever and ever, Amen!
