The Big Orange Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 No this isn't another article hoping to entice our current favorite arguements, even though I have no doubt it will, which is a real shame that we can't just be happy with our running back, especialy since most of us think he's pretty decent, and will probably get even better and he'll be around here for a while. Here's a good article on him I found...http://www.fanball.com/fb/article.cfm/ID.4278 Quote
HairOnFire Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 You've gotta love an article that mocks Corey Dillon as often as that one does. Quote
Stripes Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 Nice article. I have been annoyed by Rudi's draft position this year, but oh well, more time for me to take him and hear all the empty "homer" accusations. Rudi's numbers should only improve with experience and a worthy backup. Quote
The Big Orange Posted August 8, 2005 Author Report Posted August 8, 2005 You've gotta love an article that mocks Corey Dillon as often as that one does. True-that, Hair...some of my favorite quotes:"...doesn't come with attitude...""...you'd have to talk yourself into putting up with the attitude and shenanigans of Corey Dillon...""There's plenty love about Rudi beyond the fact that he's not Corey Dillon, which means he hasn't pouted, whined, refused to play through minor injuries, or trashed his teammates, his coaches, or the city. Instead, Rudi is one of the most-loved members of the new and improved Bengals, certainly in no small part due to his easily-chantable first name."Happy days, my brothers...the season is nigh upon us...soon the Jungle shall again be filled with the chants of "RU-DI" "RUDI" "RUDI" !!!Which shall put a smile on any real fans face. HairOnFire Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 Yeah, well... Perry's better.KIDDING -Haven't seen DPM around, so someone had to say it. That's wrong on so many levels. And let's face it, if the writers comment about Perry in the article didn't get Pushy's attention then nothing will. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 I'll admit it, last year I took Rudi with my first pick (was like 8th over-all so it wasn't a top 5) and he disapppointed me dearly the 1st half of the season.By the end of the season, he did a nice job for me over-all, but I wouldn't take him as high as I did again. For one: the Bengals played too many good run defenses last year and in their division there's always the Squealers and Ratbirds to contend with, so he never had "great" games, just decent ones.Secondly: They didn't throw to Rudi hardly at all last year, whereas he actually had some success out of the backfield in '03 at times and I thought that would increase with more PTBottom-line: Rudi should be one of the 1st players picked in your 2nd round, he should be a major part of a fantasy team, but if you are going to depend on him with your #1 pick to carry you every week, you'll be in some trouble probably.
