DontTakeAkili
I think that Watson is a safer pick and valuable on third down. But if Perry fills that role this year, I would keep Wilson. Look at how well keeping Rudi paid off years later. With the short shelf life of a running back, it might be nice to have a "Rudi clone" in the waiting. w8th
My prediction is (Assuming Perry stays healthy): Kenny Watson is cut, Chris Perry takes his role as the "3rd down back", Quincy Wilson is Rudi's back up as the inside runner. I saw Quincy play at WVU and I believe he can run between the tackles in the NFL.
Stripes
I vote to keep Watson. I've seen what he can do, and he's a valuable 3rd down commodity, as well as returning kicks. Wilson hasn't proven much yet, and even if he's a good back, I don't know if it's worth losing a solid Kenny Watson by risking that roster spot with another unproven backup. w8th
But do you think Watson and Perry can run between the tackles if Rudi were to get hurt and they had to replace him in the "power running game" for several games?

Good point, though I do think Chris Perry could handle those duties effectively.
BENGALTHEM
I hate to say it, but I think they should cut Watson, and keep Wilson. We need Perry on the field more. Watson role on the team, will just take away more playing time from Perry. I think Quincy will be a damn good backup for Rudi.Anybody who doesn't think Perry can run between tackles is smoking stix. I've see what that guy can do from his Michigan days, and I'm glad Marvin drafted him with the first pick after loosing Bennet and Dillion. BlainThePain
Keep Watson. He has proven that he is worth 10 carries a game if we need him and he is a capable receiving back so if Perry gets hurt we won't be hurting in that department. Plus, there is always the chance that Wilson will clear waivers and be put on the practice squad.
BENGALTHEM
Wilson will never clear waivers. If we put him on the practice squad, he's gonzoe.
Michigan Bengal
Keep Watson. He's been a solid 3rd down back for us, and he can return kicks. Wilson's unproven and Perry is always hurt.
TJJackson
I know only one minus against Watson.....he will become a free agent at the end of this year because we failed to sign him to a contract longer than a year this past offseason....whereas Perry and Wilson are either not eligible for FA yet or are signed beyond that term. Now, aside from that one minus, let's look at what you have in Watson1) a durable back2) a better than average special teams (not just kick returns, either, he makes stops) player3) an enormously efficient ball carrier. Check out his stats for 2004 at http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/235389. Please note carefully his 6.2 yards per carry. 6.2. We actually need to give him MORE touches of the football then we did in 2004 (less than 2 touches a game on average)4) a 100+ yard rusher. He has 2 100+ yard games to his credit, albeit these were in Washington in 2002 proving himself able to carry the load for entire games should Rudi be for whatever reason unavailable.5) experience. He has loads more actual game experience than Perry and Wilson combined, and not much more wear and tear on him.Neither Perry nor Wilson can make similar claimsThis is a team that *can* win big now, and what you need to ensure that kind of success is proven, quality players, not players who you hope will live up to their potential. Kenny Watson is a quality, experienced player who knows his role, accepts it, and performs it well -- exactlythe type you need on a playoff-bound team.Of the two remaining, I personally would prefer to have Wilson remain simply on the basis that he costs less and almost by default has to be more durable - very few players are as fragile as Perry appears to be and yet remain on NFL rosters. I realize it'd be a heck of a cap hit to simply cut him, and would hope that we could trade him away for at least a early second day draft pick. Sox
QW is a Rudi clone. If Perry is healthy,QW might make the club.If not, then he's cut.Watson is similar,if a less talented but healthier version of Perry. My opinion is that if Perry is healthy Q sticks...if not Watson does. BlackJesus
Big fan of Quincy Wilson...He is stout and I think could take over full time if Rudi went down.... No other back on the roster I think fits that criteria
