NFL's Top Young Trios

Jeremy Green wrote an espn insider article on the Top 5 you nfl trios. Number one on the list was the cincinnati bengals. He states 2 of the 3 are in place with Rudi Johnson and Chad Johnson. He thinks the key to this trio will be Carson Palmer. If Carson has a full season of how he preformed in the second half last year, green thinks this trio will be one of the best in the nfl today.

The other trios he listed were:

Houston Texans - Domanick Davis, Andre Johnson and David Carr

San Diego Chargers - Drew Brees, LaDainian Tomlinsson and Antonio gates (He said if Philip Rivers is at QB and not Drew Brees they will be taking a step backward not forward.)

Buffalo Bills - J.P Losman, Willis McGahee and Lee Evans

Detroit Lions - Joey Harrington, Kevin Jones and Roy Williams

Green said Losman is extremly talented, but has a wild streak to him just like a young Brett Favre and he has no fear in the pocket and he is willing to step up and make a play when things break down around him. Green also said the bills is the most unproven of all the teams he mentions, but thinks they have the best upside.

I don't know so much about comparing Losman to Brett Favre that may be stretching it just a little bit.

He said the Lions all depend on Harrington if he comes around they will have one of the top 3 trios.

All the teams he mentions have one player that is going to make or break that team having one of the top young trios in the nfl.

Losman could be very good, but I've read some things from camp I don't like as well...

He's made some great plays, and has developed a chemistry with the wide outs...

But they say he's running alot in practice, which is a talent... but when you have a red jersey on, and no one can hit you, running through a bunch of guys that aren't allowed to tackle you is stupid.

I think it is a good list. The only one that really irks me is Detroit. I can't imagine Harrington being mentioned with Carr, Palmer, or any other. Same with Losman, but at least he hasn't shown poor play already like Harrington. Then again, he certainly hasn't shown good play either. All that matters is that the Bengals are ranked on top. Good work mister sports writer.

Willis will not lead the NFL in rushing. To do so he'd have to outperform Tomlinson, Alexander, Holmes, R. Johnson, J. Lewis, Portis, Dillon.

Buddy, Mcgahee is a good back but there are some serious horses, on teams with lines that are very effective running the ball, he'd need to out gallop for the rushing title.

I can see him Top 10 in yrds, Top 5 is even a stretch.

To the Losman point, he will take a couple of years to get acclimated. Manage your expectation as to his performance.

Mcgahee is amazing, the Bills are my favorite out of them all. I'd say the Lions, but I just don't know about Harrington, we will see after this year.

If you take McGahees stats from his 11 starts last year and spread them over 16 games he would have been second in the league in yards and first in TD's.

I think McGahee will be stud, but I can't imagine him outperforming all of the NFL's premier runners. Either Tomlinson, Alexander, or Lewis will put up huge yardage, and it will be very difficult for McGahee to keep up, though I do consider it a possibility.

The season is 16 games, not 11. Extrapolating stats is a futile exercise, you are smarter than that. Let him get the full 16 under his belt and then you can compare. Until then it is just calculator fodder.

McGahee is talented. but his line is inferior to the lines of top rushing teams, and having Losman pulling the trigger will, I think, let D's key on the run. Once that happens, we will see how his 16 game stats work out.

Once again, all assumptions... I've never been a Bills fan, I always hated Marv Levy (The walking P**SY !!) and it stayed with me all these years. However, McGahee is going to be great, but who knows what you get out of Losman. Will he do as well as Big Ben last year ?? That is a lot to ask, but you never know. Odds are against it, but I think the Bills D keeps them in games next year and hopefully (for the Bills that is) Losman matures as the year goes on. If he does start putting it together earlier rather than later, watch out, the Bills will be there... I think our game with them on 24Dec will be a good one, playoff implications will be involved IMHO...

WHODEY !!!
