Ravens' Cody Injures Knee

-- Cody Injury Update --

Tue Aug 2, 2005 --from FFMastermind.com

The Baltimore Sun reports Ravens rookie LB Dan Cody sprained the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee midway through the team's first practice yesterday, officially sidelining the second-round pick indefinitely. Although he will be re-evaluated later in camp when the swelling has settled down, the Ravens have resigned themselves privately to losing him for the year. A magnetic resonance imaging test revealed between a second- and third-degree sprain, which are the two most severe conditions. The loss of Cody would deliver a sizable blow to the Ravens' pass rush. He was projected to play rush end in passing situations, the role previously reserved for LB Peter Boulware. Asked last night whether he would consider re-signing with the Ravens, Boulware said: "Anything is possible. My mind is open to it."

Tough break for Cody. I'd love to be a fly on the wall if they had to go back to Boulware... :o

I can see it now... The Bengals rough up the Ravens during both meetings... and cries of foul ring loudly through the land of the Ratbirds: "You'd never have won if we had Cody".... "Cody was injured!!!".... "Palmer would've been planted at least 30 times if Cody were on the field".... "You guys only beat us when we have injury problems".... <_<

Linebacker Dan Cody, the Ravens' second-round pick, sprained his right ACL during Monday's practice and may miss the entire season. Cody was expected to fill the pass-rushing role previously held by Peter Boulware. Roderick Green, a fifth-round pick last year, is expected to take Cody's place in the defensive rotation.

Hate it for any player and for the team counting on their contributions. I hope our guys stay healthy, as opposed to what we had last year...

WHODEY !!!

Didn't they just put J Lewis on the PUP list ?

No from what I saw in an interview wtih J. Lewis he says prison is a great place to workout, he is ready to go and he is not a bad guy just because he had a little trouble with the law. He was just following in the footsteps of the team leaders.
