Irish Bengal Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 On SOAS last night Crunutte claims that Marvin loves all three TE's and that TE isn't as important for the fact that cincy runs more 3 and 4 WR sets. He also said blocking TE is more important to help pick up blizters on pass plays and open holes for the running game. He feels that if J Johnson and Perry are healthy you won't even think about the TE. Quote
CantStop85 Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 We get what we need out of the combination of the three. You won't see any of them going anywhere unless we get a stud TE in the draft. Quote
HoosierCat Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 and the mods have awakened from their deep sleep so the gay crap should die a quick death... B*tch, moan complain, b*tch moan, complain. First you leave one board because the mods get on your case, now we aren't busting your chops enough. Some days you're worse than that psycho chick of a girlfriend I had back in college... Quote
HairOnFire Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 B*tch, moan complain, b*tch moan, complain. First you leave one board because the mods get on your case, now we aren't busting your chops enough. Some days you're worse than that psycho chick of a girlfriend I had back in college... I'd describe my behavior differently than you did. More like joke, joke, joke, complain for a bit, complain even louder if ignored, scorch the Earth, feel better immediately, joke, joke, joke. What can I say, I'm complicated. BTW, it's nice to hear you had girlfriends back in college...even psycho ones. In fact, that kind of thing could go a long way in squelching the rumors I'm spreading about you. Joke, joke, joke. Quote
BlainThePain Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 The two prospects I like that fit ML's mold of a tight end are Tim Day of Oregon and Erik Gill of Pittsburgh. Both are huge guys (Day is 6'4" 270 pounds and Gill is 6'5" 270 pounds). They are both dominating run blockers that have a knack for getting open and both have great hands. Gill is the faster player and better blocker, but Day is more polished. Gill also has the most potential of the two and I can see him jumping to the first round. Day is probably a third round pick. Kazkal Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 might have to go early 2nd to snag him then depending how much ass we kick this season Quote

If that's ML's view, and, based on the numbers at that spot the last few years, it sure seems to be, then expectations for the TEs on the roster should be dialed back. Block someone, pick up blitzes, catch the occasional pass. The TEs on this roster can do that. Quote
Semper_Fi_Dawg Posted July 27, 2005 Report Posted July 27, 2005 UGA has a 6-7in. 250 lb Jr TE named Leonard Pope that will probably come out next year. Would be nice to see him in a Bengals uniform. Quote

Would be nice to see him in a Bengals uniform. he's from UGA, so that's a plus...the more bulldogs Marvin gets the better it seems!Yeah, watching Pope against the Vols convinced me...he will be a late first rounder, right where the bengals will be picking...
