Spain
I know not this year , but when do you see us letting Kitna march, Bramlett looks pretty good. I think that when his contract expires we might let Kitna go. Bramlett really has been progressing. So what do you guys think? P.S. if you want to troll me just dont post! This is a question nothing more!
Reimersfan88
How do we know that Bramlet has progressed well against NFL foes?
joshh967
It is only a back up position. I think Bramlet or Krenzel would be more then enough to take over temp while Palmer is out. Kitna is a good quarterback. But is too good to be sitting the bench for too long. I think some team would give us a decent trade for him. AMC
I say they sign Kitna for one more year if the terms are agreeable. There are alot of guys coming up after next year, Willie, Levi, Justin, etc....Bramlet is unproven. I think they brought Krenzel in in case they can't resign Kitna after the year is up. Spain
I too would like to see some real fire. However when next year cap runs around! You have to think about the cap! I personally would go with the vet,but Bramlett looks good! PS NFL europe has done many a QB well. Warner, Kitna!
MacD BengalFan
Continuity is paramount in the NFL. This is something the Bengals has lacked over the past 14 painful years. Thus, they need to resign Jon Kitna for a few more years so he retires as a Bengal. Then he can become an offensive coach (QB coach maybe) and continue the progress that has been started with Carson Palmer.

I don't think Kitna will retire a Bengal but I believe Kitna would be a great coach. And Zampese won't be around much longer. He'll be a coordinator before long....Love to see Kita as QB coach eventually
ShulaSteakhouse
Love to see Kitna as QB coach eventuallyIf they stick with Brat's system when it happens, sure. For now I'd rather see him as a back-up, but not for more than another 2 years or so. At that point he'll just be rusty and ready to move on. Who?
So you call one of your fellow fans a troll? He doesn't seem like one to me, he's just thinking ahead that's all.
BengalszoneBilly
So you call one of your fellow fans a troll? He doesn't seem like one to me, he's just thinking ahead that's all.Ahhh! Don't pay any attention to that. We call everybody trolls. It's a term of endearment around here. Troll! Now back to Kitna...In NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM do we let him go! He's the best backup in the league. Worth every dime we pay him in his mentoring of Carson, not to mention being a damn good insurance policy!Plus look at the way he flat ran over SHAWN BARBER! Corey Dillon never looked that good on a run!
BengalsOwn
Bramlett is trash. He posted a very "boller-esque" passer rating in the lowly NFL Europe.Hell, we sign CRAIG KRENZEL of all people to compete for Bramlett's spot!
Rimington over Marino
Backup QB is the 2nd most important position on the team. It is rare any Starting QB plays every game. Even Favre should have taken games off. We don't want to abuse Carson. Remember when Blake got hurt in 1999. Akili never was ready to take over but definitely not the 1st game of the year, of his career. We had the Titans beat til Smith came in and gave the game back to them. When Blake recovered they won 4 straight games late in the year. A good backup QB can make a huge difference
redsbengalsbucks
I think they have to hold on to him as long as the cap allows, a solid backup QB is essential on a team with a high powered offense.
The Big Orange
And Zampese won't be around much longer. He'll be a coordinator before long Bight your tongue, man...say it ain't so...I can't bear to think about it. Zampese is my favorite coach (besides Marvin). The day he lives is the day you find me curled up naked in the corner in a fetal position in the corner sniffing daiseys and supergluing pennies to my arms. Zampese for Prez! Zampese for Prez! Out with Bratworst..in with The Zamp Man...the only thing keeping us from being the Colts on offense is a Brat and a year.

He was signed to inspire more OSU fans to become Bengal fans and then find a spot on the practice squad after taking up some of the MANY MANY snaps that are taken during camp. It's a simple matter of bringing on a guy with just enough experience to throw the ball in camp and look good in the statewide press. Brat is a nice coordinator, but Zampese has another level about him.As far as Kitna goes, how much do you pay your backup QB. Do you pay him so much to risk losing your O-line. Or do you start to groom Bramlet/Krenzel this season for a backup role?
Ickey44
I think if Kitna agrees to stay at his current salary of $1 million, then you keep him. That's a bargain for a back up that good. You definately don't want Bramlet going in if Carson gets hurt again.
CantStop85
Bramlet is unproven and untested...let's keep it that way. Resign Kitna.
Spain
He might not leave because he has been in the same scheme his wholecareer, If he goes to another he is not going to have the sucess that he has here!
