Dear Bengaldom, are we worth the hype

We have been getting alot of Pub from every sports writer in Sports! From superbowl to contender! Now as Bengals fans we have a hard time adjusting to things going well. Its been 14 years so I too wont believe it till i see it.

However these sports writers are begining to look three moves ahead, after the suprising Chargers and s**ttsburgh teams. They can see the same thing in the Bengals that happened in San Deigo and Pitt.

These things are A young up and coming team with a QB and stability on the O line and a solid Front Office and young players. These guys have many of games in front of them. So My real ? is. How do we stack up to what the Chargers and s**tsburgh did and how do you compare them to us, before they had great seasons?

Are we in for the playoffs and one great let down. Id have to say yes . Why lack of playoff experience! You cannot expect this team to compete with the best of the best just yet!

So as a competely out of touch fan who has no propaganda coming his way I would be weary this year!

Your call tell me what you think?

I have the same fear you have....almost like you dont want to believe it because you might jinx yourself...Im just waiting for some major injury to happen. But all of us have to stay optimistic....we dont want to be known as fair weather fans do we?

Cheer up ya little dinks. The whole secret of dealing with increased expectations is pretty simple.

Ready for it?

You're supposed to be disappointed the moment something disappointing happens. Mostly because being disappointed now is considered premature, and any attempts to get the hand wringing out of your system before the whistle blows is doomed to fail the moment play actually begins.

Well, that's it.

Hope this helps.

If not, kill yourselves.

Post of the new century, hands down.

What Hair said...grow up. Enjoy the moment. Stop getting your panties in a wad over being improved. 8-8 and a good off-season is reason to be hopeful. So be hopeful. You are fans for gawdssake.

I think the Bengals finally deserve this hype, Carson Palmer will have a very good year and will lead the Bengals to the playoffs.

You create your own reality. Expect failure and thats what you'll get. I truly believe a part of all the losing during the 90's was the negativity waiting for the Bengals to blow the lead..game...etc. Good teams fans expect them to win, expect them to come from behind. That positive energy goes out to the team. Time for us to lose the negativity and believe in our guys and EXPECT them to win. Positive energy man...send it to them!

I agree completely! For most of us, being fans through the dark years, it is high time we get to enjoy positive press!!!!

As stated earlier, and more eloquently....Live in the moment!

Hu-Dey! :player:
