History of Pro Football in Ohio

Currently showing on the NFLNetwork is "Pro Football in Ohio - The History of the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Bengals".

As I write this I've seen about 2/3 of the program and would like to offer this warning. This is the cinematic equivalent of a kick to the nads...endlessly repeated....complete with a canned laughtrack.

We're talking almost nothing but lowlights here. In fact, it's almost like the first 20 years of the Bengal franchise didn't exist. Just the lost decade, stories about socks and towels, and video of Klingler and Akili doing their thing. Frerrotten throwing the left handed interception. Kitna saying dang over and over again.

Granted, the Browns franchise fares no better, but screw dem guys.

This sucks.

Umm yes that is EXACTLY what this show was, a kick in the nads. Good fricken grief.

The only saving grace was the "Sam Wyche: In their Own Words" that came on afterwards. Some good stuff in there.

And they had a nice interview with Rudi Johnson on Total Access prior to the nad kicking festival. Tons of respect on display for the nuevo Bengals. Then, just as I was really getting comfortable after another day at work....I stumble into the NFL Films version of Bungle-fest. <_<

Oh well, nothing like a reality check just when things are starting to turn around.

Clearly another case of left-wing media bias... ;)

"The Bengals may have went to Hell but at least they didn't go to Baltimore." :D

Hobson's eulogy on misguided loyalty and Trumpy's jab at nepotistic retardation are kicks in the nads that are hard to forget because the lost decade just didn't have to happen that way if Mikey had sprouted any resemblance of a clue.

Gotta say the Sam Wyche bit gave back some air, especially the 61-7 insult to injury vs. Glanville and Sam's highlight reel of antics.

And Rudi did sound much more together on Total Access than he did on the Hot Seat a while back. Not quite sure about his hat, though. Robert Griffith called it "pimp casual" but that was kind IMO. It looked more like Inspector Clousseau solves a safari mystery  Still was good to see how genuinely excited he is for the season to start....and it will, won't it?

Rudi does like his hats, doesn't he? In fact, I don't think I've ever seen him interviewed without one. That said, I liked the pimp casual look when compared to the jock-with-a-hat-on-backward style he's always used in the past.

Very crunky, said the white boy.
