walzav29 Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 This guy was the number 4 pick in the NFL draft. CJ, TJ, Henry, and even Ken Walter's are all getting more props than this guy. If he doesn't respond then he is either a flop or hurt. Either way, I feel a real competitor would try to prove all of us, the Bengal's organization, and the entire NFL wrong for throwing dirt on him. I wonder what he is thinking about all of this? Quote
NJ29 Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 P-Dub isn't just gonna sit down and let TJ and the rest of the guys shove him ot of the way. The guy is going to come back and have a season similar to 2003, in my honest opinion, and he'll earn a nice contract for next year, from the Bengals or someone else. Quote

If he gets medically cleared right ?? I hope he has the year we all want him to, but with the injuries he has sustained, one has to wonder. If he does have that type of year, do the Bengals fork over the big $$ ?? I don't think they will, but there is still so much that remains to be seen.WHODEY !!! Quote
AMC Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 P-Dub said all the right things, but I think he was Pissed off when TJ got the jack. But maybe he's letting that motivate him now. Quote
HairOnFire Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 What's his mindset? If I had to guess I'd say he's a professional doing everything possible to come back from a major injury and continue his career. I'd also guess that's something that you have to go through on your own, and if that effort fails I doubt he'll care very much which player replaces him. Quote

P Dub becomes a FA at the end of the season. This is his contract year. He will make his 2003 season look like a yawner... The big money comes from a big season. Besides, he finally has an arm that he can't outrun. It was Kitna that gave him his career year in 2003. I predict he lines up in the slot, runs through traffic, and can burn any safety or LB that tries to keep up with him once he goes vertical. Anyone remember that 49er game??? How about KC? Quote
Kazkal Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 He needs to resign till 2006 for cheap so we can give him a good contract in 2007 (if he gets healthy and comes back the pdub we know and love) Quote

The_Next_Big_Thing Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 Pdub is playing for a job anywhere this year, and if he gets that job after preseason, he's playing out a contract year to try to sign with anyone. Quote
CBin2k7 Posted June 30, 2005 Report Posted June 30, 2005 I think this is Pete's last year as a Bengal unfortunately.I agree. No way the Bengals pay big money to 3 WR's. I think PW is going to want some money next year. Quote

Peter Peter Reception Leader (prior to CJ)had a job but couldn't keep itGot injured and dropped the allTJ grabbed it but certainly isn't in the hall.Peter Peter Reception Leaderneeds to work hard or be defeatedHe must show he can be the bestOr TJ will just thump his chest.Seriously, if Pdub is healthy, there is no reason he couldn't push TJ right out the door either. walzav29 Posted July 1, 2005 Author Report Posted July 1, 2005 Game 1 last year, Pete did seem to be Carson's go-to guy. Quote
slf Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 ... Seriously, if Pdub is healthy, there is no reason he couldn't push TJ right out the door either. That really is it. I agree, if he returns to good health he will win the starting spot.If his health does not return, the Bengals are still good to go ;-) Quote
CBin2k7 Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 I am a fan of P-Dub, but even healthy Warrick didn't have a stretch of football like TJ had last season playing opposite CJ.PW is going to have to work hard to supplant TJ Quote
shatan Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 so what happens if p-dub and henry both kickass out of the gate, do they rotate or do the bengals throw in 4 Rec's once in a while, wouldn't that be sweet. Quote
Kazkal Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 Colts have 3 1000+ yard receivers so I could see chad 1500+ TJ 1000 Pdub 800 Perry 300 Henry 500 Kdub 500.....then again I probbley drank alittle tomuch and seeing doubles of everything Quote
redsfan2 Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 Several past rumors have had him heading ( or wanting to ) back to Florida so he could play at home. ???????? Quote
schweinhart Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 Trade him for Ricky Williams as soon as he's activated. Quote

With all those weapons at Carsons disposal, how could Marvin Lewis not have Bratkowski throw in a 4 receiver set upon occasion!?! (Of course they'll probably use it to set up a sweet opportunity for a QB draw!) Quote
StripesNTn Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 I think our best sets exclude pdub if he doesn't supplant TJ. TJ isn't a burner but has great hands. Nice big target at slot.Johnson, TJ(slot), Henry Quote
