bengalsLB
as long as i've lived we hadn't had a winning season. so i really don't know the players from the 70s and 80s but i was wondering who is the greatest bengals linebacker of all time? LABengalsFan09
Takeo Spikes. Even during their great years they were built with strong secondaries and tough d-lineman. There has never been a killer LB with the skills and ability of #51 in my opinion. Reggie Williams was good but I think Spikes gets the nod over him.Anyone who drops Alfred Williams or Steve Tovar is high.
membengal
Jim LeClair or Reggie Williams.
BengalPappaw
AHHH Another tough one that causes me to "exercise the old gray cells". The names that come to my tired mind are Takeo Spikes, Bill Bergey and Jim LeClair. I always liked LeClair -- but Bergey may have been a more dominant LB. Alfred Williams had a lot of sacks -- and "fat" James Francis had some plays (... and kids). If required to give one name I'd say Bill Bergey with Takeo Spikes a close second. Side note in going back and checking, I found that we did fairly good at finding good LB in the third round (e.g. Williams, LeClair, Steve Tovar) Hopefully, our two third round LB from last year will also pan out. Also had a bunch of first round "no shows" (e.g. Joe Kelly, Emmanuel King, Reinard Wilson)
The_Next_Big_Thing
Jim LeClair all the way. Takeo was good, but LeClair was great.

AMC
LeClair was the man. But Reggie Williams was the heart and soul of the Bengals for a long time.Either one would do anyone proud. No votes for Tom Tumulty???????? schweinhart
Jim Leclair was a warrior for a long time. A tackling machine vs. the run bar none. IMO he was the best Bengal LB but no doubt a lot of others might say Bergey, Reggie Williams, or TKO. I'd say Leclair was the kind of ILB that Tim Krumrie would have been if he had been a LB. Relentless.Plus, from what the sumpcake of my memory is of being 10 yrs old, I recollect that he seemed like a genuinely good guy doing what he wanted to do most in the world when he spoke at a banquet for the pony league team I was on.Reggie Williams had to be the most unique of the bunch plus he was great on the field. But I gotta say the best of them overall is TKO. He's just an altogether different critter. But he bailed on the Bengals so I gotta dis him as the best Bengals LB.

DesperateDerelict
Bill Bergey . . . and while your at it, Mike Reid was the best DL - opponents had to game plan around these guys, and still couldn't neutralize them.
