The Big Orange
I liked this in sportsline...Draft Grade Best pick: Second-round pick Odell Thurman is the best linebacker in the draft. If not for off-field issues, he would have been a high first-round pick. Thurman will be a star. Questionable move: Third-round pick Chris Henry has first-round ability. At 6-4, this receiver can fly. He does have some off-field issues, but if the Bengals can control him, he will be a big-time player. Steal: Keep an eye on sixth-round pick Tab Perry, a receiver. He had some decent days for the Bruins at UCLA. Overall grade: A Getting David Pollack, Thurman, and Henry with their first three picks makes this a heck of a draft. I guess I didn't realize how high both Odell and Chris Henry would have been without there so-called questionable" off-field issues", which I think will quickly go by the way side and soon be forgotten. If there is a good shot that Odell and Chris Henry will end up being every bit the player that Pollack will be, and if the C. Michigan boys shore up the line for years to come then this may be the best draft that we have ever experienced.I would love the picture of AFC North fans (other than the Bengals) crying in their beers over the day the Bengals picked the final pieces of the AFC North champs for 7 staright years. This while all of the Ravens picks are in jail (and they questioned our guys off-field issues), all of the Browns picks are reserve players for other teams, and all Steelers picks start for them even though they couldn't make our practice squad.Nice day in June, thought I'd take a deep dive into the Homer pool... He was expected to go in the early part of the first round and we got him in the second.

Yeah, Steinbach dropped... a little, but the very first pick in the 2nd round is hardly a 2nd round pick... it is the same as the superbowl winners 1st round pick. Not saying I'm not happy to have him, I just don't think he is as big as a steal as we've had in the last couple drafts. In regard to Thurman and Henry... I thank God that everyone was worried about their attitudes, because there us no way they should have dropped that far. I don't know about Thurman being an early 1st round pick, because MLB's just don't go early in the first round often... but if he really was "the best LB in the draft" there is no doubt it was a steal.I think for the first part of the season.. and maybe the entire season... he will out produce Pollack. He's already showing signs that he's ready to take that unit over as a leader... I just want to see it on the field.Henry is clearly talented, and in no way should have been a middle 3rd rounder. I like that pick to be the equivalent to the Madieu Williams pick. Pro bowl potential at the end of the first day of the draft... that is a good pick. The Big Orange
I was up in Cincy visiting the parents...saw the practice...had a chat with Chick...got interviewed by a Dayton Newspaper on camera.I tried out a home kit do-it-yourself lipo which was a rip off...just a knife, piece of hose, bottle of Jack (for the pain), and suck your own fat out until you pass out. But hey, I'm down to a size 50 pants now.

The Big Orange
It was great to be in the heart of Bengaldom for a few days...I bought up everything Bengals from wristbands to pom poms (for the little girl of course). Stores don't have squat these days. Wait 'til we win it all...you'll even be able to buy Kyle Larson jersey. I couldn't get enough Skyline...I started putting 'em in a blender so I could take them intravenously while I slept...a little bit lumpy, but it did the trick

Last time I was home in Columbus, I went looking for some Bengal gear and the stores were all sold out. But they had plenty of Browns stuff marked 50% off. I wonder why...
