DesperateDerelict Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Why wait for the rush? Let's pick a good one here and now and see if it sticks!I vote for Anti - Akili - it says it all! Quote
NJ29 Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 I voted other for other. I think "Thunder" would be a good nickname for him. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 I voted other:The "Wrecking Ball"... He goes from one side to the other, destroying all he sees !!! :player: :player: WHODEY !!! Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 What's wrong with just calling him The Pit Bull. Pits trained to fight are just like him; high motor, ready to attack on command, etc. He's also a former Georgia Bulldog! Quote
derekshank Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Nicknames are for the most part a thing of the past. The really great athletes are simply known by their first names or their initials. In fact, I can't really think of too many good nicknames at all. Warrick is P-Dub... Is Chad's Nickname really 7/11? I think most of us call him Chad. T.J. is T.J. or Housch. I think I'll call him Pollack for now, and if he becomes great, D.P. Quote
walshfan Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 he'll get stuck with the present day moniker of DP as so many others are now called by anymore.....DP......Better wait till he actually does something in a game fore ya put a tag on him. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 I guess I'm the only one who found "Sacker-Cracker" funny. Quote
HairOnFire Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Just for the record, his team nickname at Georgia was "Scar"....a tag he got after cutting his head so badly that the skull was visible. Tripped over his dog in the dark while going for a pee. So with a tip of the cap toward the rush LB role he'll be playing I'm writing in my choice of......David "Joker" Pollack. Quote

Sounds like a name you would give a Bulldog! Quote
JungleFanatic Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Something about David Pole-Cat Pollack made me LOL As The_Next_Big_Thing mentioned "The Pit Bull" seems to fit nicely. :player: Quote
DontPushMe Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Why give him a nickname this early? He might get injured sometime this season, and everyone will turn on him and call him a bust. Quote

I agree -- but I prefer to take the positive. Why don't we wait until he's done something great and then give him a nickname. IMO The nickname will be obvious after we see him destroy a blocker on his way to sacking a QB Quote
7/11 Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 the disciple...he's marvin's first defensive gem, and jesus is definitely d.p.'s homeboy. Quote

Why, I'm not too sure, but I think it had something to do with being an unpopular #1 pick, then holding out for more money when he had not proven anything on the field, and then when he did (briefly) get on the field, the only thing he proved was that he knew where to find his place on the DL list. Again. And again. Hold on, let me check for the latest update...yep! He's still there! Well at least he's consistent! Okay, okay! I'm not being fair to Chris. I'm sitting here waiting to be served up a big plate of crow. Will he be healthy enough to at least bring me a plate of that? If he stays uninjured for the ENTIRE 2005 season, I'll consider the "Big Crow Dinner" to be served. Otherwise he's a... Quote
DontPushMe Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 Chris Perry is a better runningback than Rudi Johnson. Quote

Also, I think the nickname for DP will come naturally (haha). And either way, he's gonna be sick, with his fellow Dawgs. Also, atleast the Reds are making it easier to look forward to the Bengals. kingwilly Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 I humbly submit:"ROOKIE" or ROOK" or ROOKIE-BOY"being a 1st rnd draft pick means didly shat. when he make some plays and tears things up, I'll think about what he should be called. Until then...He is "ROOKIE", as in "Buy dinner ROOKIE" or "Get the water ROOKIE" and "Where are the doughnuts ROOKIE?" Quote

Rimington over Marino Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 Chris Perry is a better runningback than Rudi Johnson. I will not say that until he proves it. I believe he is or they would not have invested a 1st round pick on him. Quote
