I've played maybe a dozen tourneys. Played some on-line. Never made a deposit, but there are sites that will give you 5 or 10 bucks to start and I've won some free rolls on sites. Quickly blew it all though. All my big wins have come against buddies. Would play every day if I could, but hence work, wife and kids take a priority.

I play some, my uncle is a pro and currently playing in all of the WSOP events in Las Vegas. He has some financial backers for the Main Event too! I'm not too bad, but I don't get to play as often as he does. I love the tourneys though...

A bunch of guys I work with and some of their friends play every couple of weeks. We play no limit hold'em tournaments with a $30 buy in. We typically have 20 guys show, so we are talking about a $600 pot split between the top 3. I have fared pretty well there and have played in a few tourneys. Sometimes in the money, sometimes not. I love playing though. It's alot of fun for me. I'm trying to teach my wife, so she will come along to play instead of giving me a hard time about it.

with my friends we do quickstyle tournies so that blinds go up every 15 min. 20 dollar buyin, we get in about 2-3 games a night when we play which is about every couple weeks or so. oh and about 8-12 ppl are there usually.

Myself and about 6 of my other buddies do the same sort of thing every month. $40 buy ins for the first 2 hours only, though. Recently at my bachelor party we went to Ceaser's Riverboat in Indiana and I lost my ARSE!!

It was a blast though.

rebuy's are cool up to 1 time or a set time limit.

i think im gonna start doing the small live tournies at pechanga casino out here. they are 25$ to enter and theres usually about 250 ppl....top 9 place, 1200$ or more to the winner with 250 ppl it would be like 2500$.

A friend of mine was playing in a tournament and was doing quite well and then he ran into a crazy hand. I think he had K-J and the flop came up J-J-K. He makes a good bet and gets called and then a 10 comes up. He bets again and gets reraised and then all sorts of money starts flying into the pot. He's already got a full house. I don't remember what the river turned out to be. There's a possibility of a straight with the K-J-10 sitting out there and the possibility of a flush as well. No one can have four of a kind because he's got a J in his hand and there are two out on the table. He's thinking he's home free and the crazy betting finally resolves itselft with an all-in and an immediate call. Dude he was playing against had A-Q suited and made a freakin' royal flush!! My friend was depressed for quite some time after than hand..... kept mumbling something about the odds of royal flush....

that would suck. i got caught the other day to a guy with a 4 of a kind...2's!!! and he caught them on the turn and river...
