AGrizzlyBaer
http://bengals.com/press/news.asp?iCurPage=0&news_id=2943The agent for Willie Anderson walked off the practice field Thursday with Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn, but Terry Bolar had no comment on his visit to Paul Brown Stadium. There is no looming, imminent deadline as things look at least to be in motion in the bid to extend the contract of Cincinnati's Pro Bowl right tackle beyond 2006. “I’m flattered they are considering it and are talking to us about it,” said Anderson, who would divulge none of the details. “I want to finish my career in Cincinnati and I feel like I can play at least six more years. I hope we can come up with something that is comparable around the league, and I don’t know how long it’s going to take. But I feel honored that they are discussing it. It's very preliminary." Anderson, one of the club’s undisputed leaders who turns 30 next month, is resting his surgically repaired knee in the May and June camps as he gets ready to extend his team-high streak to 81 straight starts in this year’s opener in Cleveland. He started every game on torn cartilage in a streak stretching back to the first game ever at Paul Brown Stadium on Sept. 10, 2000. He expects the knee to be as good as new once he tries it out for the first time when training camp opens July 29. Anderson, heading into his 10th season, has said he’d like to play 15 seasons. Only quarterback Ken Anderson has played longer in Cincinnati with 16 years. Cornerback Ken Riley has the second most years of service with 15. P-DUB IN THE MIX: Head coach Marvin Lewis has said the punt return job belongs to second-year cornerback Keiwan Ratliff for now. But, of course, wide receiver Peter Warrick will have something to say about that when the team expects him to return for training camp. It will be interesting to see if the club tries to keep Warrick out of that fray to take care of his knee. At least offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski is hoping on a full-blown Warrick. "Everything we talk about as we scheme things is,” Bratkowski says, " 'Well, if Peter is involved in this, this will be a great thing for him.' " BIG TARGET: Rookie receiver Chris Henry is catching everything thrown at him and quarterback Carson Palmer hasn’t been shy throwing it to him: “Big target, you can find him, no question,” Ratliff said of the 6-4 Henry. Hello good news. I continue to hold out hope that Henry will be the fourth receiver and the fourth receiver early. Kelly Washington is really going to get pushed, and the thought of Henry and his speed and size on the outside in a four receiver set is really really really intriguing. kybengalsfan
Ya got to believe Washington is sweating out his future in Cincy. I love it!
The_Next_Big_Thing
First off, it's great to hear Willie is wanting to retire a Bengal and the Bengals are getting a year ahead of the game by trying to extend him. Secondly, a great camp by Henry should seal the end of Pdubs career here.
derekshank
a great camp by Henry should seal the end of Pdubs career here. Agreed, but I hope Warrick is here this year. I think Washington is going to play well this year (like Housh did unexpectedly last year) and with Henry in the picture, Warrick will be pretty expendable next year. My guess is that Chad, T.J. Henry and Washington will be the 4 receiver set in 2006. This year, I'm hoping Warrick stays and plays.
Kazkal
I am sure P-dub will get plenty of love inless chad becomes P-dubbish.Otherwise I think we still need Pdub till that happens
UK Bengal
one thing i am seeing in all the posts that are mentioning the WR situation is that no one is looking at the posibility that TJ just had a flash in the pan season and he might just disappear as a top WR back into obscurity. This would then if pdub is healthy mean we would need to keep him and bring washington and henry through, henry quicker that expected then there is allways perry as well.just a different angle on everything being said its deffinatly possible in bengaldom we have seen it so many times before. But i hope im so wrong and everything comes good. andybren
Good point about TJ not being proven to be more than a 1-year wonder. I've always held that there's no good reason to cut a consistent performer like Warrick as long as your #3-7 receivers don't have any pro starts among them. Injuries happen, you know. What happens if CJ goes down in Week 1? You start TJ, Henry and K-Dub? God, I hope not.

Kazkal
Even if TJ isen't a 1year wonder, what happeneds if him or CJ get hurt. or think of how dangeous it's going to be when we have 3 WR's on the field.
