brownsblow05
Just 2.5 points? Yeah right. We are gonna beat them so bad that the dawg pound will be half-empty by halftime.Who-Dey :player:
andybren
It's early. Wait til the action starts coming in. They'll be raising it around 7 or 8 points to get people to bet for the Browns. Remember it's all about casinos/bookies getting you to bet on the loser.
DesperateDerelict
it's all about casinos/bookies getting you to bet on the loser.Actually, the bookies want to place the point spread so that exactly 50% take the favorite, and the other half take the 'dog'. They live on the 'vig', not the odds.
schweinhart
Maybe they meant 25 points
Kazkal
The browns did beat us last year Stuff happens so I woulden't say were 100% gonna win mybe just 89%
walshfan
uh did we beat the Browns twice last year? How many points did we "hold" them to in two games??? 82 friends.....41 per game.....they were moving the ball until Holcomb committed the unthinkable remember? So is 2 1/2 pts a lock? We arent the reigning super bowl champs.. we were 8-8 and the last win was a gimme from Philly. The Browns have improved just as we have.... I expect a win but please dont think we're going to go into the DawgPound and they're going to laydown for us.. Not gonna happen..never does.. It will be a war and hopefully we come out of there 1-0 for the season....

Where did this guy come from? You tell me how Cleveland improved?!?!?!He needs to make his reservations on the Dawg Pound Band Wagon. brownsblow05
lol yeah.you just keep believing that buddy. Whoever says the Cleveland Browns have improved needs to have their brain examined
walshfan
Well apparently you dont read about other teams much.. What you think the Bengals are the only team improving or trying to???And Im not your buddy....buddy....
Defender
I gotta take walsh's side. Their O-line has nowhere to go but up and it appears they're doing that slowly but surely with the addition of Andruzzi and Coleman. And if Marvin could give our team instant credibility just by accepting a head coaching position on a lousy team, you better believe that Crennell can do the same thing up north. brownsblow05
Well im obviously overmatched so im gonna rest my case.Lets just root for our Bengals walsh.Who-Dey :player:
walshfan
good idea.....Im just like you.. I love the Bengals but I try to put it all into perspective... Every team in the league is trying to upgrade their teams as well.If you watched the games between us and the Stains last year you'd have to admit they were dogfights.. Its allways that way with them.. I look for a win though.
brownsblow05
Agreed. They were dogfights.I just want the playoffs sooo bad.Ive got Bengal fever. lol.Who-Dey :player:

No doubt ML did just that and Moses the Clown proly will do the same eventually. But I gotta look back to the 2003 season opener at PBS when the Donkeys destroyed the Bengals in ML's debut. I expect karma to be in full force this year, regradless of Andruzzi, Coleman, Braylon Edwards, Gary Baxter, Reuben Droughns, Matt Stewart, Brodney Pool, and yes indeed Trent Dilfer. walshfan
Instant Karma.......so true....life cycles..what goes around comes around...Our O-LIne has to make a statement right off... If we control the line of scrimmage, we control the clock....I see that happening by the matchups up front. Rudi should have a big game and I dont see Chad having a pepto game again against them.... Is it me or would Crennel look like one of the Clumps with a bowtie??? Ever heard Romeo laugh?? thats scary ( tee hee hee ).....side not on him.. he has a sister named Juliette..... JPW
We hear the same crap EVERY year, "boy the Browns have really improved their team".Last year it was: "we now have a Pro-Bowl QB !!!", "we have The Best TE to EVER play the game !!!", "the Browns are THE Most Improved team !!!" ect ect ....This year it is: "we now have a QB who has A RING !!!", "we have a completely new DL !!!", "we signed a TOP CB who could make the Pro-Bowl !!!" ect ect ....Well I didn't drink the Cleveland KoolAid last year and I sure as hell am Not drinking it this year.Just a few point ...Dilfer is Not a better QB than Garcia or than Holcomb for that matter ....Their DL is Not better than what they had last year ....They paid big $$$ to sign Baxter to play CB ....But they lost Anthony Henry ....Baxter is not a bad player but he has one problem, he is a Safety who "thinks" that he is a #1 CB.The Truth is ... Henry did a much better job in coverage against the Bengals last year than Baxter did.I don't see just how this adds up to be an upgrade, at least not on the weeks when he has to match up against the Bengals. The Browns have upgraded their OGs and that may bring their OL up to being somewhere close to being average.Except that now they are having trouble with their OTs not being happy because of unkept promises and at least one of them may hold out.The best thing that the Browns have done this off-season was to bring Romeo Crennel in.The man is making the all the right moves but it still takes a few years to completely rebuild a team.I think that Rudi got it right when he said, "What the Browns are trying to do now with Romeo Crennel, the Bengals got out of the way two years ago under Marvin Lewis".As for our games this year ...Well it is the NFL, and it is true that on any given Sunday any team can beat any other team. However it is also true that the Bengals are a good two years ahead of where the Browns are right now.And that is only if the Browns continue to make all the right moves and if Charlie Frye does in fact develop into a quality NFL QB ....Yea anything can happen, but this is how I see it ....This year "should" be the year that we Sweep Cleveland.Hopefully that will start a trend that will continue on for years to come. Bobcat Bengal
What kind of playoff-contending team would we be if we couldn't take one from these guys at home, especially considering the circumstances?
schweinhart
The Truth is ... Henry did a much better job in coverage against the Bengals last year than Baxter did.I don't see just how this adds up to be an upgrade, at least not on the weeks when he has to match up against the Bengals. That is the Truth. The guards and Droughns look to me like the only real upgrade vs. Bengals because if it weren't for Madieu hanging on to Droughns in the SS spot last year vs. Donkeys, that game could have easily turned out to be a loss.Droughns isn't Jam size but he's big enough and his downhill acceleration picks up in a hurry when he hits the second level.Still, Bengals should knock the slop out of Clowns in 1st game. How about 31-
