Back to white cleats?

I was just wondering if maybe we would be switching back to white cleats, because I saw Carson, Rudi and Chad, among others, wearing white cleats at the mini camp.

However, iNFL rules state that uniforms can only be changed every 5 years. I'm not sure if a change in the color of cleats would be considered a uniform change. I don't know why the change would be made, but I was just wondering.

Speaking of uniform change... I really liked the new uni's this year, but have to say that I am still waiting for the helmet change. I get the feeling that most people feel strongly about this one way or the other (either love 'em or hate 'em). I don't think they really look too intimidating. On the other hand, I really don't want to see that cheesy 'B' on the side of our helmets either.

I had friends in high school that refered to girls with good bodies but ugly faces as "Bengals", because of the helmets. Any thoughts on if there was a change, what we could change to, or should we just go with those stripes, and not worry that they don't look too fierce?

Love 'em. Besides, how else are you going to portray the tiger? With it's picture on the side? Now we're no different than the Lions, Jags, and Panthers as far as big cats go! Besides the Bears (a "C") and the Colts (a horseshoe), Cincinnati is the only team with an animal mascot that doesn't simply slap it's picture on the side of the helmet and call it good!

Look at all the "critters:"

Falcons-Falcon on the side.

Broncos-head on the side.

Cardinals-head on the side.

Dolphins-Flipper on the side.

Eagles-head on the side.

Bills-Buffalo on the side.

Seahawks-head on the side.

Ravens-rat on the side.

Of course the "Non-critters" ain't much different:

Patriots-head on the side.

Vikings-head on the side.

Raiders-head on the side.

The Bengals helmets are unique. I hope they NEVER change!

I like the stripes, but I wish the orange was a more 'naturalistic' shade. What would be really cool would be a more yellow-orange on the top fading into white on the sides, so that it looked like an actual tiger. Then again, that might be a little much. In the end, if they change them at all, they should go with plain, jet black with an orange number on the back. Black jerseys, black pants, black helmets.

Yeah, your right! The dark orange is usually found on the kittens, but it lightens a little as they get older.

Why don't they wear synthetic tiger fur? That would be sweet, and it would be as close to looking like a Bengal without actually wearing a tiger skin (cuz that would be wrong).

Or have 11 tigers just play....that would be awesome.

Maybe Terry Tate here can shed a little light on this furry issue!

Those Tigger suits keep you REAL warm in the winter.

(Good thing I didn't have to pee..... )

Uhhhh, how about the Rams?

Moving on, some time ago there was an NFL Network interview with Marvin Lewis from his office that offered a look at what I think is the most likely change in helmet design. Featured prominently on the bookcase behind Lewis was a Bengal helmet design that many fans have screamed for. Specifically, the current design with the colors reversed. Orange stripes on a black background. The only other change I noticed was the stripes appeared to be slightly wider than the current version.

Lewis wasn't asked about the helmet during the interview but said months later that no changes in helmet design were coming. However, I've seen proof that at least one alternative has been considered and in my opinion it was both shockingly new and firmly grounded in tradition. Thus, a perfect change if change is truly desired.

Though I think orange stripes would look intresting I really don't like it  Looks to halloween for me ^_^

I like the Eagles helmets, just the wings, rather than a birds head. Maybe the Bengals can go with a tiger's ears on the side of their helmets. that would be seriously intimidating!

I think that would be seriously corny.

Then again, what I'm visualizing in my head is probably completely different than what you're picturing.

Maybe you can design a graphic.

The ironic thing about Tigers is that they are solitary creatures.

Quite the fitting name for a team sport, dontcha think?

They'd just as likely end up fighting each other than the opposing team.
