walzav29 Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 As always we won't get the free agent, but just in case who would you rather have? Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 I'd pick Sharper just cause he's a better investment. As athletic as Boulware is he would only be a situational player/pass rusher and if we would have gotten sharper he would have been on the field for all three downs, so from a money standpoint you get more production out of Sharper. Rimington over Marino Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 How many of these big name free agents that everyone has wanted in Cincy has been invited to NE? The only free agents that have signed in NE in recent years are Rodney Harrison, Ted Washington and Keith Traylor. Quote
Kazkal Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 None really.I think our LB depth is just fine.If we got either of them they woulden't wanna be bench warmers and I don't wanna see pollack or odell or landon have that job either."How many of these big name free agents that everyone has wanted in Cincy has been invited to NE? The_Next_Big_Thing Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 I don't want either of these over the hill guys for a year or two. I want to build for the long run. Quote

cincy9275 Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 young players learn from battle tested vets. quality depth is a very good thing to have. i would like to have them both. Quote

There's only so much room on the roster, and we don't need an old fart to teach our young guys. That's what the coaching staff is for. Quote
cincy9275 Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 if we did not need old farts teaching our young guys then why would we sign braham? Quote

There are many things that coaches can't begin to teach better than a veteran playing side by side with younger players and leading by example! Coaches give them directions in words. Veteran players give them real life demonstration! Quote
HoTbOy Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 If we had to choose I would pick Sharper, only because he was 1 and 2 in tackles in the NFL the past 2 years and Boulware was hurt much of last year... Quote
membengal Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 I am abstaining until a neither option is added. Since the drafting of Pollack and Thurman, I have chilled about needing another LB. Quote

The_Next_Big_Thing Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 if we did not need old farts teaching our young guys then why would we sign braham? Quite simply, because Wilkerson isn't ready to play, which leaves us a center who sucks and a rookie. The roster will have 3 centers this year. Wilkerson, Braham, and Gooey. Gooey will get the start by week 3. Braham will be backup. Quote
