JPW
Adam Bergen is now a Cardinal.Who else is left ?Maybe Alex Holmes from USC ? Official Bio College: USC Height: 6-13/4 Position: Tight End Weight: 265 Class: Senior 40-Yard: 4.75 SCOUTING REPORT Strengths: Very good in-line blocker...Has excellent size and bulk...Has solid, reliable hands...Runs good routes...Strong and finishes his blocks...Does the little things. Weaknesses: Has had some troubling injuries, most notably to his back...Lacks top speed and quickness...Upside is limited and won't be able to stretch the field in the passing game. Notes: Not the type of dynamic weapon at tight end that is popular these days, but could be a nice fit as a backup and blocking specialist. NFL Draft CountdownThey didn't throw to him much at USC but he has reliable hands and runs good routes.I remember seeing him Run Over 2 or 3 defenders after making a short catch for a 1st down at the senior bowl. And he is a Very Good Blocker ... DontPushMe
http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/playerpro...honycurtis.htmltheres one i was looking at, not sure if he has been signed yetAnthony Curtis6'5" 251Strengths: Has good size and a tall, rangy frame with long arms...Extremely athletic with very good speed...Physical and can be dominant as a blocker...Still has a lot of upside. Weaknesses: Raw and has not played against top competition...Was not utilized in the passing game as much as you would like but shows promise in that facet of the game...Needs more experience. Notes: Has all the tools you look for...Has loads of potential...Could be one of the top sleepers in the Draft and be a steal for someone on Draft Day. turnip
We're not going to find a 3-down TE as an undrafted FA I don't think.
HairOnFire
There are three teams that usually sign a boatload of undrafted free agents every year. Tennessee, Minnesota, and Jacksonville. I don't think it has ever amounted to more success than teams who are more selective, but year after year those are the teams that seem to scream cattle call louder than any other. That said, I don't think I've ever seen 36 players signed by one team. WTF indeed.
jditty47
Earvin Johnson will make the team i bet, or a team in the league...hes got good size. he just never had a QB to throw to him at UNLV.
JPW
It is reported that we signed Lyonel Anderson TE Kansas. He is like 6'3" 257lbs and runs about 4.59 in the 40 ...LINK ...He seems like a guy who is well worth at least taking a look at.I wonder how his blocking skills are ?I don't know ...Is it just me or is it possible that there could maybe be some connection between Palmer and Alex Holmes from their USC days.WARNING that link seems to start some kind of "auto-print" of the page for some reason. alleycat
His pro day times were a little slower:Lyonel AndersonTEAnderson (6-3¼, 253) ran 4.68 and 4.76 in the 40s. He had a 33½-inch vertical, a 9-foot-9 long jump, a 4.34 short shuttle, an 11.78 long shuttle, a 7.34 in the three-cone drill and 16 reps. TJJackson
Not very strong for a big guy, but at least that can be worked on more easily than foot speed.
BengalszoneBilly
We're not going to find a 3-down TE as an undrafted FA I don't think. I don't think so either. Not so much that there aren't any available. It's more that Marvin obviously isn't looking for one! Bah!!! But what does he know anyway, that "been in the Super Bowl and won it once already" coaching goofball! just in case:..............****SARCASM ALERT!!****
The_Next_Big_Thing
We're not going to find a 3-down TE as an undrafted FA I don't think. Don't be so sure.... Check your history on the great tight ends in the league right now and look at what the scoop was on Antonio Gates during the draft and before he was signed AS A ROOKIE FREE AGENT. Our latest scrub tight end signing COULD be the next Antonio Gates..... Of course he could be the next Matt Schoebel too....
