HairOnFire
As to where they were drafted, here ya go. According to the huddle report's draft roundup, of pfw's top 100, 81 actually went in the first 100 picks, an obvious 81% accuracy rate. So when ranking the easiest to judge players on the board they still got 20% wrong? ((Gasp))) Wasn't one of the most often heard jokes about Mikey based upon his presumed habit of using a Sporting News draft guide instead of a scouting department to determine his picks? Perhaps his biggest problem was in his choice of draft guides? This PFW guide that you speak of seems pretty accurate. In fact, I'm beginning to wonder why I stopped buying it. Tell me, where did they have Hawthorne ranked? 50ish, right? Late 2nd early third projection, ehh? How about Shazor? Then again, why bother mentioning him...it only seems to tick people off. So how about that offensive lineman the Steelers drafted? And who did we get in the PFW mock draft? Wasn't it Heath Miller, a player they felt wasn't worthy of a 1st round pick in most years? So what in the heck were we supposed to do with a guy like that at #17 when he was questionable value at #30? Can I stop now?
HairOnFire
You ever heard of the term "arm chair QB" Don't get mad just cause I have a different opinion. Over the span of many years it's been my experience that it's almost impossible to make Joisey mad. Not that I've tried very hard.
brian5562
Pro Scouts put in so much more work then teh so called basement guru. He attends games, practices, and watches actual game film not what you taped off of ABC. They then attend the Senior All-Star games, The Combine, and various Pro Days plus personal interviews as well talking with coaches and even teamates. Case in point Randy Starks going in th3 3rd round last year while eveyone else thinking he was 1st round material. Ernest Shazor another example some draft experts had him as high as a 2nd round pick yet his name wasn't called. Do the NFL guys make mistakes of course they either pay to much attention to workout numbers and forget what they saw on film or the player becomes happy with just being drafted and doesn't work on becoming the star his has picked to become. HairOnFire
How many total draft picks were there? Wasn't it something like 280 and change? I'll slap my own hand on this one. Total picks...255. I guess that's what I get for guessing.
