skyline
This list has to make you feel a little better about things. It's not as if we passed on these guys, and then the next team took them and got a steal. Every team passed on these guys in every round... BengalszoneBilly
That list is full of names of players that were projected to be drafted!
membengal
That list is full of names of players that were projected to be drafted! Exactly. Which ought to operate as a cautionary tale to many who were running around screaming about the sky falling in the 6th and 7th rounds. If these guys were what their bengalszone press agents made them out to be, they would be on a team right now, rather than still searching for an opportunity... There is a lot of talent that wasn't drafted but the chance of an undrafted rookie free agent making a roster is minimal. IIRC Larry Stevens is the only one who made his way on the Bengal roster for most of the season last year.Hard disputing a player deserves to get drafted much less be a Day 1 pick when no team wants him. Seemed like James Butler, Ernie Shazor, TA McLendon, Kay Jay Harris, Marcus Lawrence and Chris McKenzie woulda got picked. Some dropped for medical reasons, maybe legal reasons too, or maybe the obvious is the obvious and they just don't look like they can cut it at the next level in the eyes of scouts and coaches. Hey I'm with you on this one schweiney: , but at the same time, Game film doesn't lie. These are guys that can play. I think this is more " They didn't shake the right hand" or get the right agent, that comes into play than any thing. You and I both know these guys have been scouted since their Highschool days. They've been poked and prodded like a heard of cows for the last 6- 7 years, maybe even longer, but when the pads came on these guys produced, so I have a hard time thinking that all of these guys that were " College All Americans " i.e. Wilkerson, Shazor, Brimmer, Lawrence, Browner, etc. all fell because of poor forty times. Forty times don't make a football player, How he performs when he puts those pads on makes a football player. :player:
